I am two weeks post lead replacement. (Failed medtronics recalled lead) for the past week I have had a number of episodes of debilitating chest pain - inability to breathe or move - Sometimes, but not always, preceded by sharp burning pains under my left breast. I ended up in the ER one night this week - and they ruled out punctures, an MI, wandering leads, infection and clots - but this is ridiculous - my left arm goes weird (not numb exactly - just puffy feeling) , my entire lower jaw ach...

I have been diagnosed with nocturnal complete heart block (lasting 1hour 45 mins) and left bundle branch block following exercise. I have had an angiogram and MRI scan to access if my arteries were blocked, this proved ok & I am now currently on the waiting list for pacemaker fitting.
My question is, Although 54, I am still a keen sportsman taking part in activities such as Trail running, kayaking, Fell walking, Mountaineering & Mountain Rescue. I have not taken part in any sporting acti...

I have been 'paced since age 43, now 69, very active but with last two implants defibrillators with frequent 'firings'. Last defibrillator has been set to avoid this little annoyance however last check-up following UltraSound indicated reduction of heart function to 40%. It appears that after consultations that I will have third ventricular lead inserted to offset the pace induced weakened heart muscle. If am confident in my physicians who are @ Arrhythmia Specialized Hospital - Lankenau, in P...

Hello,
i am 10 weeks post implantation of a St Jude 5826 dual PM and occasionally I get these hard thumps seemingly under midway my left rib cage. This happened once with so much effect that it caused left lip droop and slurred speech as if I had had a stroke.
Any one else had this with this PM model.
Thanks

Is there one particular computer site that I can go to that explains the Pacemaker & its lead wires & the functions (& readings/numbers) of both lead wires???
The MD tried to explain this to DH & me at DH's 1st appointment Nov 18th after Nov8th PM surgery.
Surgeon is now requesting DH also do a NUCLEAR STRESS TEST before his 1 month checkup. What is this ?? And is it usual?? What exactly is this?? Have any of you been asked to do this AFTER a PM was installed?? Is the Nuc...

Had my PM put in on Thursday. The surgeon nicked my lung and it collapsed. He used a vacumn tube for 24 hours to get the pressure out of my chest and let the lung re-inflate. Has anyone had this happen and if so, how long did it take for you chest/lungs to feel normal again? I can breathe but am feeling some tightness in my chest and am not sure if that is referred pain from the pacemaker or something to do with the lung.. Any feedback would be great as I am not sure what I should be feelin...

Please include in your prayers, Billie and Brian, especially today, as this is the day Brian has his major surgery in Melbourne. God Bless to you and your families.
Billie's last posting said she and Brian were sailing back to the mainland on 11/14 and would not be available until after the New Year, so she wished all of us Happy Holidays, etc.
God Bless both of you and your families and may Brian have a speedy recovery. We are and will be waiting for your reply, "blueaus...

I am hooked up to a halter again. I am still having palpitations, extra beats, skipped beats, maybe even PVC's. Not sure, hence the monitor. I should be able to take it off on Monday.
Going in for a stress test on Monday. Just to make sure everything is ok. I was supposed to have it before the pm was implanted but it seems the complete heart block they caught while on the monitor put the stress test on the back burner for a while.
Can anyone tell me what to expect. Is ther...

I have been taking a fish oil supplement but recently read on the WEB MD site that if you wear a pacemaker you should not take a fish oil supplement. Does anyone out there know anymore about this??
