I hope you know how many of us are thinking about you this morning. Many of us have gone through this and are doing so much better because of it. I am praying for fair skies for you.
I have put in an order for sunshine and calm weather the weekend we are all going to be in Tampa. You'll be able to rest and heal in the warmth of your friends and the sun. My goodness I hope you can make it Tampa. What a great place to recuperate!
Blessings to you,
Pacergirl

Anyone have similar problems?

Hi there!
Since "Dronedarone" (Multaq) has been subject to some postings here lately, I wanted to post an article I got yesterday. It's from theheart.org, and I think one has to be logged in to read it. I'm posting it here so that you don't have to register for reading it. The baseline of the article is: Dronedarone is not as effective as Amiodarone, but it's much safer. I don't want to open another discussion on this, just thought the article might be of interest for some of you.

Hi, I'm Sian, Aged 15, from Nottingham, England
I have an unusual condition. My consultant has never heard of such a serious case as mine, and neither have his other colleagues.
Basically, I have always fainted, since I was a baby. These faints were usually to do with the heat, dehydration, or shock. I think I was about 11 when it got worse.
I came downstairs first thing in the morning, after having a bath. I made myself some toast and began to feel really dizzy. I ma...
Getting a pacemaker

Hi everyone,
I haven't been online for a couple of years as I was pretty stable. Now I have a new arrhythmia that my EP tried to fix yesterday with an ablation. He couldn't get it and now pretty much my only option is a pacemaker. I had mitral valve repair in 2002, have had many cardioversions and 4 ablations. In August I was in atrial flutter after being taken off dolfetilide and put on flecanide. He thought he could ablate out the flutter but when I stopped the flecanide prior to the...

Hi everyone! I got my pacemaker on Friday 9/11/09. Still a little sore but manageable. Got the bandage removed today...initially I was horrified. The bump, the bruising....just looks awful.
But then I thought again....thank gosh I won't have the heart blocks anymore...no more panic....no more "holy crap where did my pulse just go!" So I am happy for that!
I have a 16 month old daughter. So at least now I can be safe while driving with her and everyone else for that matter...

I'm going back into the hospital this Wednesday 9/16/09, for a second lead and dual chamber pacemaker implant. They might also ablate my AV node, but I'm not certain on that yet. I don't really care what they do just as long as I end up feeling better. It's been 1 year and one month today 8/14/08 since I received my first pacemaker. Since then I've had two more ablations to fix continous atrial flutter, and have been DC cardioverted twice. Now I'm in and out of junctional rhythms with varying de...

I've just had my pacemaker upgraded to a biventricular model - as recently as 12th September 2009. Two days after I was a bit disappointed to still have the same symptons - light headed feeling, no energy etc. Were my expectations too high? At the hospital the medical staff said it could take anything from a few days to a few weeks for the heart to adjust to the new pacemaker.
I would be glad to hear from others about their experiences

After my cardiologist recommended a PM a couple of months ago, I found this PM Club, read many postings, then joined PM Club to learn more from other members. You, who have responded to my few postings have been really helpful. I NEED YOUR HELP AGAIN & MORE ASAP ~ I called for an appt. w/my cardiologist for THIS Thurs. a. m., 9/17 for our FINAL "chat" before I go ahead w/PM placement OR not. He had left it up to me at our last visit to call him for the PM OR come for my regular visit in Decem...

Hi everyone in the in the world seemed to know somebody with a pm apart from me! It's been a lonely year.
Had mine fitted nearly a year ago and I am pleased to say it seems to be in control. I just wondered my pm had to be resited a few weeks ago because, it was so painful and started to try and come out of my skin. Has anybody else had this? I am worried as I ride horses alot and everybody seems to blame it on this! It still feels like somebody has there foot on my shoulder but, hey I...

So, 2 years on this day, september 14th of 2007 I got out of the hospital from my ICD implant surgery.
So far, over the last 2 years..
1. The pain has either diminished or I'm just used to the pain at this point. I still feel it and know it's there when I move, but it seems to only irritate me every couple of weeks now.
2. I still haven't looked at it since it was implanted and don't plan to. I do kind of count down the years to when it's either removed for good or at...

Ok, I know I tend to have a lot of weird pains but this one is stranger then most. I have found now that when I lift my left arm or move it behind me (like just to reach into my pocket) I get a jolt through my heart. I had a dual lead pacemaker installed on 3/09 and have not had this type of pain previously. The chest pains I have had in the past that were odd were found to be the meds that I was on at the time. But this is the first one that I have found to be related to specific movements....

Can't afford insurance anymore!
Does everyone out there have health insurance? For the first time in my life I can not longer afford my health insurance due to ecomomic down turn.
I have applied for the State Insurance for low income people, but it appears that I will be denied. Right now my premuim, just for me is $2,000 a quarter because of my pacemaker and it seems that my ONLY choice is to allow my health insurance to expire as I do nto have any resources to obtain this money at this time.
I am marr...

Are these ok? I am now 5 weeks post-op. I had a pacer implanted while on vacation emergency style. The doc here is so nonchalant, at week three he said I could do anything I wanted, weights and all. Only thing he said was he would frown on my using a jack-hammer.(No danger of that!)
I'd love to go ahead and do like he says, but I have these visions of the leads ripping out of my heart as I do a nice stretch with my flyes! I remember at the hospital one of the docs telling me my weight...
Irregular Beats 3 weeks after Implant

I'm a little concerned. It has been 3 weeks and a 3 days since they implanted with a Saint Jude 2 lead pacemaker for my second degree heart block. Everything seemed fine up till about an hour ago when I sensed an irregular beat. A couple fast then a gap couple fast. It pretty much straightened out after a little while.
Can anyone give me advice about what is going on. Could it be a lead problem?
