PM armpain 4months

Hi all, well I have had my PM 4months now. Had my settings changed 2weeks ago, they put it in passive mode. That helped with the heart beat in my throat, probleming I was having. My PM was put nearly in my armpit so they had already turned the movement censor off. My arm was doing so good ,pained only now and then if I moved a wrong way.I am left handed so my PM is on the right side,I know this sounds crazy but since the settings change 2 wks ago, my arm gets like a bad cramp in the upper part and...

5 Ways To DeStress

Hi Everyone...I found this article in The Canadian Living Magazine and thought it might be useful:

Stress can be brought on by a number of factors. Whether it's facing big changes at work or at home or dealing with day-to-day anxieties, we live in a world where stress has become a part of our quotidian lives. Identifying triggers and avoiding them whenever possible is the first step in battling stress but as the old saying goes, prevention is better than the cure. So, instead of waiti...

Received my pacemaker 4/9

I am new to this board. I received a PM 4/9 last Thursday after experiencing a fainting spell at the casino. I thought maybe I was dehydrated and not well from having cocktails and not eating. When they keep me and ran tests because my heart rae was in the 30's I started to worry. The Dr suggested a PM I asked for some time on a monitor at home to make sure it wasnt a fluke thing or cause by diet pills. When I finally attached the monitor they were alerting me the next after noon to get to th...

Ron

I travel flying all the time. Half way around the world a few months ago.
I don't even get out my card for security & I do have a letter from my doctor that I did need in London stating my pacer.
I tell them at security that I have a pacer they direct me aside & I receive a pat down. I can not go threw the security arch way.

Thank-you

Thank you for your support and I understand that one of the most important things to do right now is to keep the arm low and do not raise it above mid section. I am walking each day about a mile and one half with hopes to go back to my normal exercises when healed. The hardest thing to let go of is the spring time work around the yard. I am a doer not a watcher and have a hard time not taking care of things around the house and yard. Also had to put my solor pannel project for my pool on hold...

Going through the stages

Well, I'm about 12 hours away from 2 weeks post PM implant. Due to being a bit of a genetic freak, my incision site finished healing nearly a week ago and with the tweak to my PM last Tuesday, I no longer feel any pain or discomfort from my PM. Physically, I feel nearly normal aside from the bump in my chest now from the PM. I am still working on accepting the PM as a part of me now, not really much closer there. I am bi-polar also, so am really watching the depression trying to keep it from...

what goes here?

I had a pacemaker/defrbrllator inserted in February. I am more tired after the insertion than before. I work full time and am getting depressed about always being so tired. Is this fatigue expected? Does it get better?

tomorrow's the big day

gmorning y'all,
tending to chores around the homestead today, trying to be ready for the inplant tomorrow afternoon. i'm generally disgustingly healthy for a 70 yr old guy so i'm not too worried about the procedure BUT then i WAS kinda taken aback to learn that i needed to have a pacemaker.
i have A-fibbed a few times that i know of and had an ablation 4 yrs ago that fixed most of my short circuits. my bp is usually low, causing some faintness when i stand too quickly and the latest ho...

Postings lately

Seems like we are getting a few morethan normal negitive posts on our little site, it just amazes me that some people can even spread thier hatered and try to start turmoil even on Support website. It is really getting to be a sad world when you have people stirring up things on a support website, it truly is amazing. There are numerous sites I go to during my morning visits to similar sites and see some of the same things going on. Oh well I guess it takes all kinds in the world to make it turn...

Complications

I had my pacemaker fitted last year (June)for a moderate heart block.I was active and played sports, so this came as a shock,
Unfortunately following the implant I developed reactive pericarditis 5 days after implant. This was successfully treated with painkillers and anti-inflammatories. Since last summer the implant site has never settled and has always been moderately uncomfortable.
I play golf a couple of times a week, but afterwards feel tired and the site is sore.
Has anyo...

disappointed

I am disappointed! All those questions from people about what to do if there hubby is in pain or people don't know what to do at work and need a chat. Well at work I work and if my hubby is in pain I make a call! And lemonade cleansing, really it sounds like a joke to me. Maybe very American, but I live in Asia and we have no lemonade overhere. We drink green tea and water or lemon with water or real fruit juices. We eat steemed rice and lots of soya stuff. Maybe some of you must check out how ma...

pacer inducted muscle twitching

I had my first pacemaker inserted at age 21. My replacement was put in about 9 years later. I am currently 30.

Recently, my doc told me that I have a compromised or broken lead and therefore my pacers is helping to conduct the electric current and my muscle twitches almost non-stop. Has anyone else had this? what are my surgical options? coping options?

Thanks

Mended Hearts

I have been a member of Mended Hearts in California for seven years.
I am the only person in their data base that had cardiac arrest & survived to tell my story. I had a near death experience, hover over my body watch them work on me, Then the doctor intubate & I had a flat line called by a nurse. Then I was before the most brilliant light. It was a life changing event.
My Metronic Kappa pacer just died out two weeks ago after seven & half years of constant pacing full time.
I got...

New pacemaker just put in on 4-6-09

Thank you for being there today as I have just begun my newlife with a pacemaker and have many questions that you all have been able to answer in a way that no one else can and also understand in that same way. I go back to see the doc. on monday and have already gone back to work. I have Sick Sinus Syndrom and they found that my sinoatrial node was weak . this is good news, because they found my heart to be strong. I have know about the slow pace of my heart for about 6 yrs. The doc said so...
