Seems like we are getting a few morethan normal negitive posts on our little site, it just amazes me that some people can even spread thier hatered and try to start turmoil even on Support website. It is really getting to be a sad world when you have people stirring up things on a support website, it truly is amazing. There are numerous sites I go to during my morning visits to similar sites and see some of the same things going on. Oh well I guess it takes all kinds in the world to make it turn...

I had my pacemaker fitted last year (June)for a moderate heart block.I was active and played sports, so this came as a shock,
Unfortunately following the implant I developed reactive pericarditis 5 days after implant. This was successfully treated with painkillers and anti-inflammatories. Since last summer the implant site has never settled and has always been moderately uncomfortable.
I play golf a couple of times a week, but afterwards feel tired and the site is sore.
Has anyo...

I am disappointed! All those questions from people about what to do if there hubby is in pain or people don't know what to do at work and need a chat. Well at work I work and if my hubby is in pain I make a call! And lemonade cleansing, really it sounds like a joke to me. Maybe very American, but I live in Asia and we have no lemonade overhere. We drink green tea and water or lemon with water or real fruit juices. We eat steemed rice and lots of soya stuff. Maybe some of you must check out how ma...

I had my first pacemaker inserted at age 21. My replacement was put in about 9 years later. I am currently 30.
Recently, my doc told me that I have a compromised or broken lead and therefore my pacers is helping to conduct the electric current and my muscle twitches almost non-stop. Has anyone else had this? what are my surgical options? coping options?
Thanks

I have been a member of Mended Hearts in California for seven years.
I am the only person in their data base that had cardiac arrest & survived to tell my story. I had a near death experience, hover over my body watch them work on me, Then the doctor intubate & I had a flat line called by a nurse. Then I was before the most brilliant light. It was a life changing event.
My Metronic Kappa pacer just died out two weeks ago after seven & half years of constant pacing full time.
I got...

Thank you for being there today as I have just begun my newlife with a pacemaker and have many questions that you all have been able to answer in a way that no one else can and also understand in that same way. I go back to see the doc. on monday and have already gone back to work. I have Sick Sinus Syndrom and they found that my sinoatrial node was weak . this is good news, because they found my heart to be strong. I have know about the slow pace of my heart for about 6 yrs. The doc said so...

Hello friends,
I am 2 days post op and doing fine. My implant is a CRTD,
Medtronic Attain Starfix.
The surgery was scheduled for 1:30pm but they were running behind so by the time they took me back, got me prepped and the doctor came in, it was 4:30.
They told my family that I was hard to knock out :-) I definitely remember asking them questions to what they were talking about. I also felt the shock. Next thing I knew I was back in recovery.
I...

Hello. Im 25 years old and I had a dual chamber pacemaker implanted in 2007 from a complication of a complete sinus node ablation, which resulted in severe brady. I havent had any problems what so ever with this pacemaker, but I work at Walmart and tonight when I lifted a 20lb case of kitty litter across the scanner i felt an immediate pulling inside my chest, a slight burn, and some mild discomfort. No serious pain whatsoever and my heart rate remains at 60bpm. It has been a few hours since it...

Hi
I had a pacemaker inserted two years ago following complete heart block followed by multiple organ failure. I am now "well" The complete heart block was caused by medication so was put in as a precaution only and not expected to work but now I am told the pacemaker is working every now and then. Probably due to my heart rate falling below 50 which the pacemaker is set at. Also told not to worry!! I live in Spain.
Any one hear of this?

Hi there, do you think the site is being inundated with idiots who have nothing wrong with them and have just stumbled upon us and have nothing better to do than clog up the site?
Just been going through new members list, lots of people who have 0 device inplanted in 1950, born in 1870 and have left no posts.
Happy Easter to everyone who has a genuine reason for being here. I hope you all enjoy the holiday and keep well.

travel info
Hi Everyone, I have two questions one is I will be getting on a plane latter today and have not gone through security or flown since I got my pacemaker. All I need is my card (that says I have a PM) that I carry in my wallet, correct?
The second question I have, is does anyone know why we shouldnt run a chain saw. Is it due to the vibration or is it something else?

Happy Easter Everyone,
Found this article and thought someone might find it interesting:
HONG KONG, Feb. 22 (Xinhua) -- The world's first pacemaker designed for safe use in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) was commercially available in Hong Kong Sunday.
The first-ever MR-Conditional pacemaker system, named the " EnRhythm MRI SureScan pacemaker and CapSureFix MRI SureScan pacing leads", was designed, tested and approved for use with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI...

I just jointed a group called Mended Hearts. Anybody that has had a heart incident can join. This includes any kind of heart surgery; pacemaker implants etc. We are a support group. We also talk to patents that will be undergoing the same surgery that we had. Do any of you belong to this group? Mended Hearts will be having a convention in Orlando, FL from June 6th to 10th. Their web site is http://www.mendedhearts.org/

I don't feel up to writing all of my friends individually so I'll just send a blanket update to all.
Despite my recent hospitilization and DC cardioversion, I woke up this morning in high rate flutter again.
My local cardiologist is at the beach, my primary physician is in South Carolina, and my EP from ATL is in Augusta, GA, at the Masters. Just my luck.....it's spring break in my neck of the woods.
Needless to say, I have no idea what's next. My EP's nurse is pretty much convinc...
Do I need a pacemaker (with SSS/AF) if I'm planning to become pregnant?

Hi,
I am new to the group, and this is my first post. I recently went to my cardiologist to discuss some heart problems I'm having and I think it's probably SSS or AF. I will know for sure next week. Anyway, my OBGYN said I needed to know more about my heart problems because some women shouldn't have vaginal deliveries. I'm not currently pregnant, but would like to be. So, my cardiologist says I'll probably need a pacemaker, and should have it implanted before becoming pregnant....
You know you're wired when...
Youre a battery-operated lover.
