Hi folks
Thanks for those who enquired if I was ok. Pookie I am sorry I haven't been in touch. Have checked messenger but continually missed you for a chat.
My shoulder pain persists and forced me to go to ER. My blood pressure insists on staying high and last time I went to my gp I ended up with a lecuture about being positive. I felt like asking "What has that got to do with the price of eggs?" He must have really upset me as my BP just went higher...

Hey all,
does anyone have any info on having a PM and doing the Master Cleanse aka Lemonade Diet?? It is basically a fast in which pretty much the only thing consumed for 10 days is 6-12 cups of this special lemonade . The lemonade consists of water.lemon/lime juice, pure maple syrup, & cayenne pepper. I've done this cleanse before(june08) but not since receiving my PM(feb 09). Any knowledge or data would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Sincerely,
R.A.M.

Anyone else had one done...should I be worried?
Of course I'll let the technician know I have one.

First I was very happy with my pacemaker . It improves the quality of my life, but after a year there was a recall from Guidant and I had a complete newe device In Bangkok. They told me the battery would at least be fine for 5 years. It nevvr chocked and now after I heard yesterday it is empty.after 3 years and 5 months. I got nervous from all these recalls and bad news. Even the docters are not so enthousiastic about Guidant and want to implant a new pacemaker. They told me, that only a battery...

newbie here
Hello All,
I am two weeks into being a PM recipient, and have been reading the posts here since shortly after getting out of the hospital. Figured it was time I introduced myself.
I'm 45, female, married, and an over-the-road truckdriver from Las Vegas, NV.
I started reading this board hoping to learn more about what has and is happening to me. My doctors don't seem to be volunteering information, and I don't have a clue what to ask them. All I know is that back in...

Ever have one of those days that you feel down in the dumps and kinda blue?....well, I'm having one of those days today! so I thought I might as well repost this.
Enjoy.....
The other night I was invited out for a night with the 'girls.' I told my husband that I would be home by midnight, 'I promise!'
Well, the hours passed and the margaritas went down way too easily. Around 3am, a bit loaded, I headed for home. Just as I got in the door, the cuckoo clock in the...

Hi Everyone.
Anyways, I know this should be an Off Topic posting, but what the heck....
I have been living in chronic pain for 5+ years now. I have been passed around like a hockey puck from doctor to doctor. I too am sick and tired of being sick and tired.
Well I landed in the ER twice the last week of March (on my birthday no less) because of the chronic pain I have in my head, jaw, neck, shoulder, etc. But this time (March 21st) I woke up with my entir...

Hi Friends,
I know that this sounds really stupid in the light of so many problems that we all have in our lives.
I'm asking for you guys to send me good vibes as I travel tomorrow evening to Florida for Easter. I know that those of you reading this are thinking...she is crazy...sunshine...blue skies...vacation...
Here lies my problem. I am a real worrier when I travel by air away from my home. My family doesn't understand that I am anxious that something will...

I have been sick feeling since and this PM feels like its burning a whole in me. I am sick and tired of being sick a...

Question
One of the members asked some questions about the shock of an ICD while holding a baby or driving, etc. I am going to ask again because I would like to know too. Can some of them be so powerful that the baby could be dropped or you could wreck the car or cause an accident? It IS something to think about, huh? Thanks for the input.

No; seriously. I know it sounds like a conspiracy theory, but this is from the article on NASA's website about the last such event, in 1859. The next is predicted for 2012:
"Even more disconcerting, telegraph systems worldwide went haywire. Spark discharges shocked telegraph operators and set the telegraph paper on fire. Even when telegraphers disconnected the batteries powering the lines, aurora-induced electric currents in the wires still allowed messages to be transmitted.

I live in South Carolina where we have what is called the "File of Life" It is given out by the fire department. You put a sticker on your front door that says 'File of Life". Then inside your house on the refrigerator is a plastic envelope that contains all your medical information: Name, Doctor, Family Contact, Medications, Surgeries, Medical Insurance etc. I also keep one in my car on the visor. I have a condo in Wisconsin and they have never heard of the "File of Life". When I went up...
Trying to Cope
Hi Everyone - I just joined because reading all these messages has made me feel a little better. My pm was installed 3 weeks ago today, and I'm doing okay physically, but really fighting depression, which is so unlike me. I basically felt fine, had no symptoms, until I passed out twice and then, in the hospital, my heart stopped for 8 seconds. So now I have a back up battery.
It's all a little too science-fictiony for me. I had no prior warning that anything was wrong. I am 60, walk,...

Hello, fellow partial-bionics!
my roommate loves to joke around that every time i go in for another surgery, the EP and the cardiac surgeon stand around and say things like 'we have the technology.' 'we can rebuild her!' and '...i'm giving her everything she's got, cap'n!' wait, that last one might be out of context...
ANYway. i just had to thank you so much for the good thoughts! i am 7 days since my pocket revision, and things are good. i'm almost back to 100% -- still no...
