sorry if i mislead you

i recently posted a message stating that i had a demand pacer for 2 wks and that now the dr wants to do av ablation and be 100% paced. i think readers thought i had not been down the med road i was on 2 different beta blockers which made me feel like heck. however i was only on them for about 2 wks before he took me off them and put me on tikosyn which really kicked my butt not only in the way i felt but all the arrthymias it caused. i was told i would be taken off tikosyn once i agreed to a pm...

I know Saint Joseph's Heart and Vascular Institute does robotic-assisted epicardial lead placement and contact information can be found here:

http://www.stjosephsatlanta.org/center-for-robotic-surgery/heart/epicardial-lead-placement-robotic-surgery.html

I had an epicardial lead placement done (not robotic)and the surgery is not that bad. 5 days in the hospital and pretty sore afterwards.

If you have any qustions drop me a message and I'd be happy to try to ans...

DC Cardioversion

Has anyone had a DC cardioversion since pacemaker implant. I have had two of them now since my pacer implant 8/08, and am wondering the efficacy of them, as well as any potential damage to my pacer hardware.
I am having non-stop uncomfortable runs of arrhythmia and fear another hospitilization very soon if things don't settle down pretty quick.
Cardioversion shocked me into accelerated junctional rhythm, but I left the hospital in atrial flutter with variable AV block.
Every time...

Social Event

My wife & I are planning to attend a Heartbeat International fundraiser on Saturday, September 26, 2009 in Tampa, Flordia. I was thinking other members and possibilly their spouses may want to join us.

There has been much talk about a social event for members and I thought Flordia would be a good location. I was thinking we could have a wine/cheese reception on Friday evening, visit Bush Gardens on Saturday and then attend the Heartbeat "Dancing with the Stars" dinne...

Pictures

Hi everyone, Just to let you know...

I have sent a message to Admin about the Member Gallery and the missing new pictures. I think it could be hung up on an image or wording. I feel confident that the problem will be taken care of as soon as time allows.

I sometimes forget that the wonderful people that manage this site also have jobs and families and lives away from the Pacemaker club so I need to be patient.

Take care all,

Members Photo Gallery

Hey all!

Is there an easy way of scrolling to the last page of the photo gallery? Or do we have to go through one page at a time?

Is there a chance photos could be numbered - or at least the pages?

or any chance that the member who has posted photos in said gallery, could have have the photos printed on their profile page? (a bit like Facebook?).

Thanks again to our Blake for our wonderful Pacemaker Club!!

Back to normality

I have just got back from swimming for the first time since my pm implant 9 weeks ago. I have been so frightened of pulling my leads out since it was put in , but tonight I decided it was time to start moving forward and getting fit. I managed 16 lengths of breast stroke, and could tell the difference from b4 the pm. i used to have to stop after each length and gasp for breath with a burning chest. I still stopped after each length but with just a slight breathlessness. I feel so pleased and am...

Pain still there :(

Hey everyone,

I posted a little over a week ago that I'd been fighting some chest pain. You all convinced me to go in and I went to the ER where they said they thought it was Pleurisy. That was last tuesday. Today I'm still in the same amount of pain and I saw my primary care physician who isn't sure it's pleurisy anymore and got me an emergency appointment with my cardiologist later today at 4:00. They ruled out clots, pnemonia, chest infections, general infections, heart issues (no...

Plavix-Acid Blocker Warning

The FDA has issued a stern warning to doctors about mixing the acid blockers Prilosec, Nexium, Aciphex, Prevacid, or Protonix with Plavix. A new study shows the proton pump type acid blockers interfere with the anticlotting ability of Plavix.

Non PPI drugs such as Zantac, Pepcid, Axid, and Tagamet didn't have the effect.

Dinner in honor of a great man

My hubby and I couldn't locate a nice English restaurant so we dined at a wonderful quaint Italian restaurant here in our small town. It was wonderful and I was able to really talk about my friendship with Peter Nash. Nothing held back... just a wonderful celebration of this wonderful friend. My husband was able to add bits and pieces here and there about our visit to meet Peter and Nina. We had such a wonderful dinner, Peter would have enjoyed it so much.... We spoke kindly of Dairy Princess an...

A properly implanted and adjusted pacemaker will not even be noticeable after you get over the surgery.
