I've just had my second 3 month device check at my cardiologist office. Is there anywhere else we can go for these check-ups? Labs or other facilities?

Sorry 'bout the title, I couldn't think of a better one! :) Anyhoos, I was wondering if there could be something called overpacing??? Would this maybe account for the "rush" feelings I get? I finally got one of those medical ID bracelets, and it is really the ugliest thing ever to be graced by my wrist. LOL! It did come in handy today in Latin when we were chatting about the gods and goddesses, though. If you want the full story, PM me; it's reeallyy long! Oh, and this Mondays quote will be the...

Hello Pace People, I will be turning off my r/r on Mon. During a recent exercise test my h/r exceeded 135 in a 2 minute tread mill run with the r/r off. Doc wanted to keep it on anyway with some of his new settings. Long story short, the settings have caused a great deal more pvc.pac, than before and I am tired of going back.(3x in 2 weeks) I had the r/r off for 6 weeks last year but returned to r/r as my h/b would not increase with exercise. What no one would tell me is b/blockers will no...

2 weeks ago I was put in the hospital for an infected gallbladder that had to be removed. Before being able to do the surgery I had to be cleared by a cardiologist.Just to let you know what I am being treated for before I went into the hospital. I have a pacemaker for complete heart block, take medicine for afib and Wolff's Parkinson White Syndrone until ablation procedure scheduled for May that my EP said will leave me 100% dependent. They done an echo on me to discharge me for the surgery and...

Has anyone here heard of any information which implies that there could be chest pain associated with right ventricle pacing? My doc is suggesting that perhaps my intermittent chest pain is caused by the pacing in the right ventricle. I pace 100% in the atrium and 40% in the ventricle. Pain feels about the size of a quarter and is kind of a "pinching" sensation. Could a lead placement problem cause this?

I just got home from my 60 day pacer check. Everything is perfect YAY!
I decided I really needed to know more about my pacer and this process so I went thru this forum and took notes before my appt today. WOW! Thanks everyone.
I ASKED what this test was about and what they looked for. I ASKED for a printout and ASKED them to explain what i all meant then wrote my own notes beside the medical jargon on printout. I ASKED them to explain my pacer card info. I ASKED about my battery life a...

Hi everyone,
Just been for my 1st check-up, atrial pacing 2.4%, Ventricular pacing 99%.Can anyone xplain what an AMS log episode is? Apparently I had one on 20th Feb for 6 seconds! It says peak A rate 200 (min) and further along a graph showing V rate during AMS 100% of the time and along bottom line between 75 n 85 (min)!
Don't have a clue what all that means.

Just had my pacemaker implanted on 3/5/2009. What I am wondering is how noticeable this thing will be when summer comes around and I want to wear a sundress with thin straps or a tank top? I am not so worried about a slight scar, but more about the bump.

Does anyone use a heart rate monitor when exercising?
I've been thinking about getting one but was wondering if some were more accurate than others. I have just been using the RPE when exercising, but since I'm basically a lazy person. . .well, it might not be too accurate for me. Any suggestions or feedback?

For those of you who have been through multiple battery changes and new leads, did any of you have trouble getting a second set of leads in? And when you got your second leads, did you leave the pm on the same side? My impeded lead has gotten worse so I'm going to have to get it replaced when I do my next battery. She mentioned the possibility of extraction and/or going to the right side. I'm still on my first set of leads, I thought 2 sets pretty much always fit, and I definitely don't want to...

Hello:
I have had my PM since Valentines Day and was wondering when I can sleep on my left side without worrying about
my leads? I have done my exercises from the start and have
almost no soreness now.

A man comes home from work and cant find his wife. After looking all over the house he finds her in the bedroom as naked as a jay bird standing in front of a mirror looking at herself. She had recently had a pacemaker installed.
The man yells at his wife What are you doing?
The wife replies I had a doctors appointment today and the doc checked out the PM scar and in the course of the exam he said that I have the breasts of a 20 year old
The man r...

Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers.
Im doing much better.
Im sorry to have caused such a commotion, and I hated to worry others.
I hate hospitals, even though I work at one, and hate going to the ER even more so. Unfortunately, going to the ER is necessary when you cant breathe.
Feeling MUCH better now, though, THANKS BUNCHES.
Ya'll behave out there,
(I know how hard that can be......LOL)

A 1st grade school teacher had twenty-six students in her class. She presented each child in her classroom the 1st half of a well-known proverb and asked them to come up with the remainder of the proverb. It's hard to believe these were actually done by first graders.
Their insight may surprise you. While reading, keep in mind that these are 6-year-old first-graders, because the last one is a classic!

I just want to share about the quality of life after my pacemaker, and hopefully increase awareness that lifestyles do not have to be drastically modified just because we are pacemaker recipients.
