When will I fell les....

Ok...you all have been so helpful as I only know my friends mom has a pm and she's 75. I'm 42!
It's been 9 days since implating the pm and I notice when I get up and walk or sit up in bed and walk I feel the pm heaviness sometimes the leads and "feel" it more than I thought.
Will this go away in time?

I see my cardio on monday am. I do feel stronger today with finally sleeping through the night.

Question for the ladies...

Hello ladies!

Okay here is a good question for ya. I am a 27 year old with LQTS and an ICD. Also a mother of two. After having my second child I lost a good bit of weight (weigh about 105 pounds). I have always had small breasts and thought often about having breast augmentation. The thought has been going through my mind more and more now that I see my ICD actually sticks out of my chest further than my breast. Here is my question to you. Does anyone have any information or heard any...

question on pain

quick history, i have CHF, now have icd with defib. and PM and used to get angina daily, very bad...this went on for about a year or so before eventually becoming minimal. it still strikes but not as often. i asked my many cardiologists many a times where it was coming from and why and only one offered me a direct answer, saying that maybe there was still blockage in the tiny arteries which were impossible to get a stent into. the others just shook their heads like i was in la-la land and di...

Pain in chest, head, neck, even teeth!

I NEED HELP! This is for a friend of mine... I was wondering if anyone has had an irritating pain in their chest after the pacemaker implant. The pain starts as the day progresses, going from where the 2 leads are implanted, sometimes going up through the neck, and sharp pains in the head. Even her teeth are hurting! Has anyone had these complications? It's been 2 months today since the implant. She feels 'off'. She is an active woman, playing tennis, and taking care of her health on a regula...

Everything went well but im itching to get back out there! I know I will be out for a good while yet. My condition is not life threatening the PM is precortionary, which is why i'v been told I can continue to play (with extra padding!). Probably have hundereds of questions but will only post a couple;...

Golf

Are there any members out there that play golf? I had my PM surgery one week ago and now have only 5 weeks to wait until I can play again. My question is, once healed and no chances of pulling out the leads, is your swing affected very much because of having a PM in your left shoulder?

re;reassurance

Thanks for the reply TraceyE. Isee the cardiologist in about 3 weeks so will mention everything to him then. I get the impression that most of the other people in the club are from U.S.A! I live in the north west of England and I feel really good belonging to this club where if I have any worries I can talk to people who understand. Have agood day everyone!

Stress....is what causes us problems

This is long but one of the best I have read.

STRESS

A lecturer, when explaining stress management to an audience, raised a glass of water and asked, "How heavy is this glass of water?
Answers called out ranged from 20g to 500g.

The lecturer replied, "The absolute weight doesn't matter. It depends on how long you try to hold it.
"If I hold it for a minute, that's not a problem.

If I hold it for an hour, I'll have an ache in my righ t ar...

Still scared but feeling better

I want to thank you all for the wonderful comments. You are making my day go easier. I am so glad there is a place I can go to and talk to other people who can relate.

Here is a little back ground.
I was diagnosed with syncope last year. During my pregnancy I was fainting and they said it was the baby taking my sugar to eat more. Yeah that helped! Well the fainting spells didn't go away so I then went to a cardiologist. After a whole bunch of tests and nothing showed anything. I...

Stairs and how the beat goes on...

Hi guys,
Well, I have been poked, stuck and scanned. After I explained my what was happening the doc ordered some blood work, a CT scan and patted me on the shoulder. He checked my body pulses... all was good. No problems there. I will know what the CT scan shows in a day or two. He did explain what they were looking for and he really does not believe it is my heart. As soon as I know what the problem is I will be glad to share with you all. Thank you so much for your well wishes and concer...

reassurance

Had pacemaker inplanted 9 days ago for sss/wenckebach (not overly sure which yet)! Still getting used to it, it was all a bit of a rush to get me in and the procedure done after an abnormal result from a 24 hour e.c.g monitoring. I am having strong thudding feelings, especially at night, and it was making me really nervous, but since reading comments from others that they feel the same sensations I feel so much better! I have mine set at 50 so I think that's the reason

Driving after a pm?

Another concerned question. I know I'll find out tomorrow after they put the pm in but kinda what to know what to expect now. If everything goes smoothy tomorrow when you thing I will be able to drive? When I had the loop recorded they stated 3 days. The anxiety is getting to me and lots of questions are going through my mind. Okay here is another one. Does anyone know what causes syncope? I am told my heart stops every so often for some seconds...what causes that....

Thanks again for...

Couple questions.......

Question one:
Pretty sure I'm the lone ranger out here on this one, but I'd thought it was worth a shot. Is there anyone out there in pacemaker land that plays violin? I'm practicing for an uncoming performance, and am having some issues. This is the first time I've actually played for long periods of time since my pacer implant. It'd be comforting to know that I'm not the only one out there, plus I've got some issues arising from playing that I've never had to deal with before until now. T...
