Has anyone ever had a 3 D mapping?
Lately, I've been having more and more problems with racing, and flutters. It's gotten pretty bad. I don't think I can wait until my next interrogation, and I'm calling today to get in sooner than March. Something's gotta give.
The best way i can describe what I'm feeling is it feels like a 3D mapping. It feels just like I'm on that table with wires in my heart. Exactly.
Does anyone else know what I'm talking about?
for Electric Frank or any of you that can explain it

What are the pros and cons of having the rate responsive setting turned off or on? I really don't understand the reason for it. Thanks for your info... aldeer

A week ago at my first checkup, Medtronic changed my upper pm limit to 140 and turned the rate response setting to on. When I brushed my teeth and washed my face this morning I was totally breathless ! Called Dr. who said that Medtronic was coming today so I went in. The "delay" setting has been changed from factory setting of 200ms to 150ms - their feeling is that atria is signaling before ventricles have a chance to empty so that blood may be backing up causing my feeling of having my heart in...

I strongly believe that our diet is the root of our health. If we don't have a good, balanced diet, our health will suffer. I challenge you to try this for one week! Check out sparkpeople.com (no affiliation, just a happy user) and log everything you eat for a few days. It's free and easy to use. It will show you how much fat, cholesterol, sodium, and a long list of vitamins that you are getting. This is also a handy tool if you're supposed to be limiting something in your diet.

Well, it's official. I played my first Wii game on Tuesday! It was bowling and I ROCKED!!!!! I won. Seriously though, I think it did interfere because I felt crappy for 15 - 30 minutes after/ during. After both teams bowled, we played Guitar Hero but I skipped because the guitar neck goes close to George (pacer). I had a seizure during surgery once, but I swear I had to look away from GH - I really thought I was going to have one. Oh yeah!!! Got my PSAT scores today! Compared to college - bound...

With all the sadness and trauma going on in the world at the moment, it is
worth reflecting on the death of a very important person, which almost
went unnoticed last week.
Larry LaPrise, the man who wrote 'The Hokie Pokey' died peacefully at the
age of 93. The most traumatic part for his family was getting him into the
coffin. They put his left leg in. And then the trouble started.
(Shut up. You know it's funny. Now send it on to someone else and...

Hi everyone....my name is Mike and I am 50 yrs old. I am new to the pacemaker world, but have had electrical heart problems for about 14 yrs. now. I have chronic AFib and in November of 08....while at the hospital for something else....my heartrate kept jumping between 130s and mid teens...so I got a pacemaker. I am looking for a forum where I can talk to others with similar problems and situations. Its hard to talk to others who have no idea what you are going through.

There have been some interesting comments recently on THANKS that may or may not be received by members to replies to their posts. My veiw on this subject is that I never expect any thanks and when I do Im delighted. We should and in the overwhelming majority of posts we are trying to help each other. An attitude "to give and expect no reward" is a good one. I have often thought that if you need help yourself, but actually spend time helping others in need and less time on your own worries you...

Hello. I am a new member to this forum and to the pacemaker user community. I'm 44 years old, live in London and had my pacemaker fitted on 12/01/2009.
I'd gone to visit my doctor after complaining of getting short of breath after very short walks. He sent me to see a cardiologist who diagnosed complete heart block and sent me straight to hospital. That was just over a week ago and I've just been sent home.
I feel 100% better although my left shoulder still aches slightly....
Phantom Shocks
Hello everyone, I have had my ICD for 8 mths now...the first week home I had this shock that made my whole body jerk, but when I went to the dr he said it was nothing...months went by where I would get these mini zaps but no one gives me a straight answer. I get them very consistently and very often. They are not the real deal because they don't knock me out they just cause me to let out a loud sigh/yell. But it is mild enough to call a zap- not a shok...does anyone else ever feel this way? A...

Does anyone know if it's safe to play on a Nintendo DS Lite.
Tracey play your kids' and see if it makes you feel funky.
I'm just grasping at straws. What do ya'll know? How / who can I call to inquire.

Recently there was a post on the site from a member requesting information about how to care for her post operative pacemaker dressing and wound site. I just so happened to be the first one to respond to her post.
My response to her although not mentioned was based on my 20+ years of Critical Care nursing with training in wound management. One memeber tended to disagree with my comments. Which is fine. However, I felt the information being provided by this individual was erroneous...

I was just wonding what other's experience has been with lead replacement. I have guidant leads that were implanted 8 years ago and I'm 100% paced (the device has been changed). I have had no problems with the devices or leads despite the long history of recalls that happened a few years ago. I am just wonding how long they typically last.

Greetings to all of you electrifying folks! Sorry, that was really bad! Last Thursday I had my first PM change. This is what I learned:
1. I'm glad my device quit in January as it is easier to forgo my usual grooming activities, ie showering.
2. I cried like a baby during the procedure. I was all sedated and comfortable when ZAP - I feel something totally painful at my incision site. "Doctor, she's crying" "Raise the amount of ..." whatever it was. It's always shocking to m...

My husband just got a pacemaker/defibrillator installed yesterday and I see there are postings regarding motorcycles and pacemakers. Does anyone out there have the combination of pacemaker/defibrillator and riding a motorcycle?

My boyfriend is now 25 years and has had a defribillator/pacemaker since May of 2006. His doctors released him to work soon after his hospital leave. Well, 3 years later he wants to become a firefighter but his doctors are giving him a run around. His doctors believe that he could be a threat to someone if his device went off. It has been almost three years and we haven't had one problem with it yet. So, my question to you all is, is there anyone out there who is a firefighter and has a def...

I have a Medtronic Thera i DR PM implanted 10 years ago. Two weeks ago, my monthly telephone check revealed that the battery voltage was low and the PM was in reset mode (correct term)? That same day, I felt "funny in the head" and a bit light headed, so I knew that the battery voltage had just dropped. Now I find that I need to be careful about exerting myself, else I get light headed.
My question: How much time do I have before I reach a critical situation when the battery drops...

Hi, it's me again...My EP told me that after my EP study (Jan. 26th) I will have to wait for approximately 4 to 6 weeks before I have the actual ablation. I understand him wanting to go in the first time and take a look around and then discuss it with me and my husband before he does anything but to wait THAT long before fixing the problem!!! I am awe struck! I have a lot of faith in my doctor and I try to remember that he knows what he is doing and why, but I have been waiting for almost 3 mont...
