Jump or Twitch - Not sure

Does anyone else get a jump or twitch, not sure how to explain it in their upper stomach now and then. Not sure whether it is the pacemaker or me.

Thanks Jules

As I promised...

Hey, it's me again, here are the other jokes I promised...

An accountant was having trouble sleeping, so he tried counting sheep. But he made a mistake and it took him all night to find it.

A man was pulled over and the police officer says,"Sir, I need you to breath into this breathalyzer for me." The guy says, "Sorry officer, but I am an asthmetic and if I do that I'll have a really big asthma attack." "OK, then I need you to come down to the station for a blood test, just...

1st Vacation Since Inplant

Hi All: I'm a Newbie here! I am planning my 1st vacation since inplant (Nov 2007). A friend and I are going to Disney Orlando and was wondering what restrictions, if any, I will have? I have a pacemaker for "on demand" purposes only. Has never gone off since it was done. I am 43 years old, female and not really big on coaster rides, but I do love the water coasters and the "small world" type rides. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thank you.

pain from pacer pulse

My 18 year old daughter has had a pacemaker since she was 3yrs. Her last pacer done when she was 12 has worked beautifully until this last 13 months. She is feeling the pacer pulse in her shoulder. Her cardiologist is concerned but they can find no reason for her to feel so much pain. Last night we took her to the emergency room, the pain was so bad she could hardly talk. The ER staff and cardiologist on call were completely stumped. Does anyone have any ideas or has this happened to anyone? I...

I Made it!

I am so excited today! I actually completed a week of work for the first time since August 2007. It was half days, of course, I am easing back into it. During my time off, many days I didn't have strength to even lift my head and started to think my life is over at 36! I couldn't see myself back at work, I could hardly get up to shower, eat or even watch TV. All I can say is God is Good! I know I am not 100% but I am encouraged by the progress. I am still suffering with anxiety because my...

Question about Michigan Blue Shield

My company wants me to re-locate from BC Canada to Michigan. We have a group plan down there with Blue Cross / Blue Shield - but we just watched Mike Morre's "Sicko" movie and (of course) now have a few concerns - particularly about "pre-existing conditions".

I've had my PM now for a year, only pacing .4% of the time (!!!) so everything looks good at the moment.

My wife has Macular degeneration in one eye, so requires monitoring by an Optomologist every year.

Pregnancy with Pacemakers?

I am a 22 year old Female and haven't met too many younger people with pacemakers - I am still in the pediatric ward at my hospital so haven't felt too comfortable asking my doctor but have always been curious if there are any major risks or complications with pregnancy and having a pacemaker. (I'm not pregnant but it would be nice to know for my future).
I am 100% dependent on my PM.
Any advice or personal stories would be appreciated :)
Thank you!
-Angie

I am blown just blown away.... :-)

I truly am so blown away by everyone's wonderful, kind and inspirational messages about my recent news of the opening of my new PR/art business. I am so happy and so very thankful for the blessings in my life. I can't hardly believe it myself. It really is a dream come true. Today I spent most of the day reading and planning and then I went to a party with some friends. It has been a great day. Thank you each and everyone for being a big part of it. Your support means very much to me. Peter...

Should I be worried about ectopic beats

Hi to the ectopic beat experts

Had to go back for a PM check yesterday at 10 weeks as I am having problems with my heart pounding in my neck - easy to see at times. The technician made some very small adjustments which she thought might help and again told me that I am only pacing less than 6% of the time. I have second degree heart block and a Medtronic Adapta dual chamber PM fitted on Feb 4. The dreadful breathlessness that I was having from day one of the pacemaker was cured whe...

non-commercial vs commercial

Has anyone here had any problems flying in a non-commercial airplane? I'm getting ready to fly in one of our helicopters for the first time since my implant and I'm kinda nervous. I have been in the plane a lot with the engines running and the rotor head turning with no problems. I don’t think there would be a difference between flight and the ground except static electricity but, I'm no rocket scientist. Any experiences or info would be great, thanks in advanced
