Time To Move On

Hello People,

I truly appreciate all of the messages of support. I am sorry that you spent your valuable time in such way.

But as I look back on this after a somewhat sleepless night, I can see where not everyone in the world would appreciate the joke I posted. However, I’m at a loss to understand why anyone would give me such tongue lashing for the posting. I found that offensive. I think telling me you didn’t think it was funny and leave it there would have been suffi...

A V NODE ABLATION

Thank you for the comments on my request for A V Node ablation and pacemaker implant. Diagnosed with AFib in 2002 and had ablation 6 mos later. Did not help. Started on amiodorin in 2003 and 5 yrs later some of the side effects have begun to surface. The electrophysiolgist recommended the pacemaker and A V Node ablation. Had the implant 3 weeks ago and waiting for ablation. Have been able to control INR without difficulty. By the way, Medicare will soon begin to supply a home use INR ki...

Still short of breath

I have chronic a-fib/flutter. I have had an A/V node ablation and permanent pacemaker implanted in 1998. Since then, I have had to have it replaced in January 2003. Everything was going fine, until this past summer. I became short of breath, and it was getting worse and worse. I was hospitalized in Jan 2008, with dx of exacerbation of asthma. I was put on massive doses of prednisone, abx, and neb treatments. I did get better (was around cats, which I have a known allergy to.). But after 6...

Need someone to research!

OK, this is the reason I logged on tonight. It has not been a good day. Maybe some one can help. There was a death in the family .He was only 65. He had Crohn's disease, diabetic and had lost one leg to that and heart disease. What I need answers about are my husband's and I best friend for about 25 years is a diabetic and has been on dialysis for about 10 years. He was told he needed a kidney transplant but said no to being put on the list. He since has had by-pass surgery and has been doing di...

Hi from sistermary7

Well, I went back to the ep doc today and found out some good news and some ok news ( no real bad news depending on how you look at it). My ep doc is very sharp and was already anticpating on what I was going to tell him my symptoms were, so he was ready for me. He stopped the pm and my hr dropped to 30. Nearly passed out and had the same s/s that I had when my hr was 280. He tried to change my mode and i did not tolerate it at all.He noted that I have an unusally high resting hr to begin with s...

Although do feel somewhat better I don't seem to be making much progress.... still deperately weary and my chest infection seems to be still hanging on.....but there is a light at the end of the tunnel... my wife Nina just rung me from the hospital to say the results of some tests they done last week a...

Checkup yesterday

With the dust up going on, I almost forgot to thank heckboy and smitty for giving me suggestions for questions to ask at my PM check yesterday.

I got the information I wanted, and also learned the pacing in the lower chamber has dropped from 34% last year to 18% this year. A positive for me! :-) The pacing in my upper chamber has held at 0% for the past year as well.

Again, thanks to heckboy and smitty for your great suggestions. I truly appreciate it!

thanks to ElectricFrank

Thank you for the info on CHF and ventricular pacing. i do have my pacemaker rate response mode off and my thresholds have been re-adjusted to 50 - 170. Still, when I work out my rate seems to climb faster than it used to. My 2nd dgree block seemed to come on progressively over several years. i was diagnosed with RBB in 2000 (no big deal). then around 2003 i began having rate dependent brady. then it became less and less rate dependent and basically chronic. My medtronic pacer has done we...

My Story (Kinda long)

I had a pacemaker/defib inserted back in 2003. This past December, after receiving the famous Medtronic Recall notice, I visited with my doctor concerning the recall. The office read my pacemaker and there is a particular code that it reads (not sure what it was) and they are looking for a reading greater than 1,200 to indicate that there is a fracture in the lead. Mine was sitting at a little over 400 so I was ok.

On New Years day, just walking across the living room, my defibrill...

I would love some help on exercise and diet. Before the pacemaker I was attending three classes a week and also riding my cycle and running once a week. Since the start of all this in November I have not done much. I am now cycling nearly every day about 8 km per day.

Would love your help and guidance.

Thanks Jules

Pacemaker and CHD

Hello everyone:

This is my first time posting a message. I was implanted March 20, 2006 for 2nd degree AV block. There appears to be no underlying coronary artery disease, so I have no idea what caused it. I'm 50. My questions is: Recently i have read that ventricular pacing can lead to HF due to the dysinchrony of right ventricle beat relative to the left ventricle beat. My ventricle lead is placed in my septum, which, i believe helps prevent this issue as opposed to an apical...

Well done Gellia2

Well done Gellia2 you have been going 33 years on your pacemaker. That should give us all something to aim for. I would be very happy with another 33 years of pacing.

WHY DO I HURT

Dec. 13 2007 I had a Guidant ICD implanted. Within a week I had to have the a hematoma on the site evacuated. Since that time I have had pain (level 8-10) at the site each morning and pain (level 3-6) during each day. I actually do feel better after the installtion of the defib' except for the site pain.
The installation physician can give me no help and has dismissed me back to my Cardiologist. His only solution was to remove the difib'. Relocating he said wa...

Increasing PVC's

Hi, I just joined and started out with a question about ICD’s. It sounds like many of you are great resources so now as I read further, I also have questions about condition/meds too. I have a single lead pacemaker for sick sinus syndrome that does nothing for the A-Fib and PVC's and struggle with this at 41 years old. For whatever reason, my PVC’s are increasing but due to my age and sensitivity/reactions to many meds, my cardiologist is saying there is nothing that would be safe to treat me wi...

Fatigue

OK now six weeks since the Pacemaker fitted. It has been altered and lowered to 50 for the resting heart rate. Rapid response off and stimulator lowered. I do not have to take the Beta Blockers only if I find that the ectopic beats are troublesome. Question is why oh why am I still tired. I feel like I have done a hard day's digging in the garden.

Any suggestions to bring my energy up.

Thanks
