PM Placement Problem?

I had a av node ablation in Feb. 2007 and have a Biotronic two lead pacer. I am 100% dependent . My arm underneath on the pm side has a fluid sack (lymph gland) about 2 in. by 4 in. Under my arm by my breast is sore and seems irritated. I wonder if my pm has moved for I have a point sticking up on one side and it seems to be bothering under my arm. I am 73 yrs. old and was disgustingly healthy before I got hit with Afib in 2006. I wonder if it is serious enough to warrant having it moved....

SoftTouch Products

I posted this as a response to a posting about the Seat Belt and Bra softTouch products. Did not get a response so now trying this as a general posting. Would appreciate the views of anybody that has tried theses please?

Interference from iPod

Hi friends,
I just want to check with you all if anyone can give me an explanation for my recent experience. I have an ICD, dual-chamber paced, am PM dependent and have a ventricular lead Sprint fidelis under recall. My husband and I went for a drive the other evening and he decided to play his iPod MP3 player in our car; He tried to sync it with the tuner and played MP3 songs. Stress

Me again. Just thanked all for welcoming me on here. Glad to have found this site. I must learn to take things in my stride and one day at a time. Perhaps this will help with the shortness of breath which I know is stress related. I went for a walk this morning and didn't get short of breath at all. My trouble is I sit down take my pulse and cannot believe the rate, vicious circle shortness of breath kicks in.

When I go in to have my pm checked by the rep. (Mine is a
medtronic.) what questions should I be asking? What determines the pacing rate, and just what does that mean and how does it effect the life of the battery? I had an av node ablation and a one lead. after the planting

hello everyone.
thanks for having me.
i am curious to know what others felt after the surgery.
im feeling i have a sort of a cold like tickle behind my breast bone that makes me cough and now its kind of sore from the coughing i think. i just got my pacemaker installed on the january 17th. a boston scientifc model.
is this just my body geting used to the wires?
im a paranoid of sorts.

Pounding/Rapid Heart Beats

Hi,

I got a pacemaker on December 14, 2007 after having two episodes of passing out with a very low heart rate (one while driving my car on November 28th). i have the sprint lead 6949

i am 21 years old and i have the recalled lead 6949 i had an alarm put on it but when they did it i could not hear the alarm. i am worried about it going off and not hearing it. every day i stress about it fracturing and i dont know what to do about it i am only 21 i dont need this stress everyday what can i do abou this recall.

First Interrogation

I had my first interrogation today. Everything looked good according to my Doc. The estimated remaining battery life is 9.75 to 10 years. I am pacing 94% of the time. Max pulse was 94 bpm which had to be during my exercise time. Settings: min 60, max 130, rate response on fast, recovery time medium.

I advised my Doc that I am still having a few episodes of light headed and slightly dizzy. He informed me that the pacer would not cure this. I was somewhat surprised by that comment....

Frustrated!

I am so frustrated! I have been blacking out all weekend, and my heart rate has been doing really crazy things. I am so dizzy that at times the room seems to literally be spinning. I have been checking my BP as well...and one minute it is sky high and the next it is incredibly low. My doctors office was closed today because it is a holiday, and she is out of the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so I won't even be able to talk to anyone until Wednesday.

After my implant surgery in october I haven't been able to feel my left shoulder and part of my upper arm and the skin there is very white. Did something bad happen in my surgery that my surgeon didn't tell me? Whats wrong with my skin?

Discrimination

I recently applied for a Corgi online. When the lady called me to talk to me about adopting the dog, I had to ask her to call me back because, I had my telephone appt. to check my pacer. It seemed like as soon as I said pacemaker, I didn't get the Dog, I just wondered if they declined me because of the pacer...........I will get a dog again, when i am ready, but I wonder if these special organizations who only rescue certain breeds, would cut someone like me out for having a battery in me.......

Blake - Thank you for your question on Caffeine and getting us back on track taking care of cardiac problems! It is amazing the responses you received and some of the foods/beverages containing caffeine. I would never have dreamed of BBQ sauce! Since my hubby has been so ill with emphysema he has developed atrial fib and his heart rate shoots up to 130-140 unexpectedly. Tested my pacemakers ruggedness

Yesterday I gave my pacemaker a real test! I was out in the desert near home doing some photography and slipped on a rounded rock covered with sandy soil. The result was that my feet went out from under me and I landed on my left side. That would have been enough, but the camera was on a strap around my neck and it was between me and the ground, or actually between my pacemaker site and the ground.
