Pacemaker

I have just had a pacemaker fitted 6 days ago and am experiencing discomfort in the collar bone and neck region. I expected this as I had to have the pacemaker re-fitted almost straight away because it wasn't working properly.I just wondered on average how long it might be before this discomfort and pain became much less or disappeared.

In a week maybe 10 days you’ll be feeling closer to your “old self” again.

I think the biggest challenge for me was getting the settings on my pacer right. Some folks require very little tinkering and then there are those (like myself) that seem to need a bit more.

You don’t say why you received the unit; but in my case and many others the pacemaker has made a tremendous difference in the quality of life we experience.

Welcome to the world of the paced and let me wish you the best of luck!

Collar Bone

I've had mine for two months and have only the discomfort of the seatbelt left. Just takes time, and we have time now.

I found that different shirts had different effects, tightness of the shirt collar I think. Anyway, just take it easy and ignor it for a while. And of course it after a couple of months if it's still bothering you talk to your doctor.

You know you're wired when...
