Back to Golf!

Well it's 9/weeks and I'm talking about last Sunday 20th. It's a sunny day, around noon...the seasons in full swing for many and winding down for some(football). No way will football wind the season down for me. Occasional radio and score is all I need. Football 2nd...Golf 1st...sorry Rothliesberger and Steelers, etc..

It's 77 degrees here in Southwestern PA. Nice. Nice breeze. I will break in with my pitching wedge and will attach a small donut type weight to add club weight. My warmup. I have a variety of light balls that I will try today, i.e. wiffle, solids, hollows, none designed to go more than 50 yds.

I am emptying my duffle bag...golf towels, golf mags, stack of scorecards...I notice that I have travelled up to an hour away to play a round. Impressive. In July I thought I was done playing for good! I place the doughnut on the wedge and start with 5 sets of 12 to warmup. With breaks in between. Pulse at 72. Swinging seems OK. I don't feel anything. No tugs. Pulls. Nothing. I'm swinging up higher and higher, increasing my arc. Did you ever see Tiger Woods Arc? I'm on a slight grade so I swing up, down, left, right, rotating 1/4 turn.

Here we go. I have around 50 balls so I get started. There up in the air. I feel a slight lack of power...maybe in my head? I am transferring the weight to the right hip on backswing then shifting to the left hip on the downswing. Pulse check 70. Still quite a way from the driving range(Upcoming: I was there today 27th) Imagine 10-15 weeks ago I was POUNDING them out at the range! Never imagined what was coming!

A hawk is circling and I hear his screams...must be lunchtime! Leaves changing and coming down slowly. Soon to be a burst of color. Now 2 hawks circling. Maybe the bright colored balls look like something to eat?

Well it's now 2PM. I'm well over 100 shots. All is fine. Now ready for the range and the real golf balls! Part 2 coming.
