Anyone had similar pain?

I am a 23 yr old female. I had my pacemaker implanted at age 15 so I have it 8 yrs. These past few days I have been experiencing dull pain all around my pacemaker area, armpit, left arm and left breast.

I can't see the doctor until at least Tuesday and I wondered if anyone had any insight as to what it may be or if you experience similar pain.

In the 8 years of having my pacemaker I have not experienced this.

Thanks,

Have you done anything unusual in the last few days? I've had that happen a few times, usually when I start a new routine at the gym. Last time was when our Wii was new and I overdid it boxing with the kids, lol.

It's highly unlikely you've developed an infection after all this time but if you see any lumps or streaky redness, don't wait around til Tues, go to the ER.

Yes, I'm having that, too. I just had mine put in a week ago.
Keep me posted and I'll do the same. Good luck.

Just a thought but have you put on any weight recently or not been wearing a bra, like on holiday or anything? Because I got pain like this when I wasnt wearing a bra, I think the pm, small as it is, sort of weighs you down a bit, and I have noticed that if i'm at home at the weekend and just lolling around in my nightshirt (as you do! lol) that my pm site feels a bit heavy and sore.

Hi.

I'm so glad to hear that you went to see your doctor.

I was told by a few doctors that when we are experiencing pain and/or stress, our blood pressure can sometimes increase. I know mine does!!!

Did the doctor happen to explain why the area is inflammed??? Just curious.

Went to the Doctor

Thanks for all the advice guys! I went to the doctor, had an ECG and everything is fine with the pm, he said there was inflamation all around the area and gave me so anti-inflamatory medicine.

My blood pressure was also much higher than usual so we think it is all down to a stressful few weeks. The last two weeks have been much more stress than usual.

So it all makes sense now. Thanks so much for the comments!
