Your doing the right thing by getting in to see him. I had three ablations but on my SA Node instead. I am taking a guess but i'm sure adjustments need to be made and hopefully your AV Node will not need another ablation. Keep us posted.

Ask him why the low setting is at 80. This seems a bit on the high side to me. 70 is the norm in your case. If you find difficulty in sleeping then that is a further indication the low setting is too high. You must remember that the heart does rest. It rests in between beats. That is why VT can distroy the heart. The lower setting that is acceptable for you will give your heart a longer rest between beats ,and your heart will appreciate it and last longer along with the rest of you. Cheers Peter

My cardio-electrican says that when first implanting he likes to set them at 90, then 2 weeks or so down to 70 and a month later to 60. He says less people die doing it that way. I have been a difficult case, total unruly Afib, BP erratic as hell, when I was in recovery Monday from the reablation my BP was 250/145 most of the day and it wasn't because I was nervous, I have been through so many procedures that the ER and operating room is like my office. Later a couple of days my BP goes down during the day as low as 68/45 and I get so draggy I just sit around until it goes back up to around 130/90 which is the normal lately. BTW the low BP has been a problem for ever. I don't think it is related to the PM. I do take a BP (losartan) to control the High BP but have no clue why it bottoms out during the day. I am wondering if anyone else has this problem?
At any rate I agree with you, the slower the beat the better.

You know you're wired when...

You fondly named your implanted buddy.
