Quivering

At times, mostly when lying down, I have the feeling of a quiver (feels fast) in what I suppose is my heart. When I feel my pulse it seems to be steady as it should be, sometimes missing a beat. I can feel the beat in my bad ear, but not the quiverf! It's enough to keep me awake. It usually stops in 5-10 minutes, but sometimes not. Hard to make it happen in the doc's office.
My EP finally accepted that something was happening because he could see it on the event monitor I used. He believes that what I feel is the PM, and that this happens when it is just starting to be in support phase. Most of the other docs I see and the St Jude techs question that there's a problem, they think I imagine it! They keep changing the frequency and have tinkered with the resting rate. Not much change.
I am convinced that there's a connection with the GI tract, since sometimes extensive burping can clear it up. I will see a GI doc in a few weeks.
I'd love to hear from any similar experiences.

All I can say is that I get the same type of feeling and like you, burping at times will tend to clear it up. Please let me know what you find out.

PAC's or PVC's?

by DC Pacer - 2009-09-30 06:09:07

They are not identifying it as a PAC or PVC? I went back to the EP shortly after my implant and we determined I was having PVC's - to me it started with a skipped beat or two and deteriorated into a sequence of PVC's. They feel, to me, like a labored shuddering beat and are pretty uncomforatble when they get stacked together.

I also have done some research into parasympathetic stimulation, and there are others more versed than me on here. If you do a search, you may find some useful info. I only got the heavy PVC's when lying down, or immediately when coming home from work. My body relaxed at these times and the PVC's are morelikely to stack up at these times.

Kind of rambled on, but hope this helps.

Quivering Sensation

I too have had these sensation occasionally. My Dr. says that is the feeling of the PM starting up or shutting down as needed, it is conserving the battery. Although, he says that I should not feel it.

I have a well tuned pacer. I hardly know I have it. I am 76 year old, hike and camp alone in the desert. I have more energy than I have had in a long time. The only problem is my wife wants to have a knob installed so she can turn the pacer down.
