First stop, the doc

If the doc says what my doc did you should be ready to start training in 4-6 weeks (actual running, but I started on the elipticals and the bike a week after surgery). No lifting or jarring for 4 weeks after surgery for me but from that point on there have been no limitations.

Running

Hi, I had a bi-vet pacemaker implanted 3 months ago. I had an ablation a year before that. As I am a runner, I was walking the same night as the surgery in the halls of the hospital as I was given permission....I took it very easy. I did long walks for approximately 3 1/2 weeks after the implant. I was given the green light at that point to start running again....I took it very slow at that point. I am back up to my normal mileage and have done long runs up to 15 miles already with no problems....I am running much better and feel great. I was limited in my activity for lifting weights and such on my left arm(implanted on the left side). So, good luck, let us know how its coming along!! You will do just fine.
