Great Checkup this morning!

I just came back from my 2 week post pm implant check up. The doctor and the tech were both great! The doctor answered all my questions. I think I had at least 20 or so, lol!

Currently, I am pacing 80% of the time. He also said that it takes time to get back to the way I felt before, but wants me to continue walking, but wait another 2-3 weeks to push my hr up to its limit. My pm is set from 50 to 130. So I'll see how it goes when I resume my normal exercise routine about resetting the pm. I go back again on 4/29 and he assured me that before then, I should be pretty much back to my young self. I sure hope so.

The one thing both he and my husband harped on was to move that left shoulder so it does not freeze. I have been a little tentative with my left arm, but as of today am making it a point to raise my arm shoulder level and to move my shoulder and not the elbow as I have been. Also, husband is making me do arm circles several times a day....

On another note, I stopped into my gp's office and picked up my blood results from 2/18 and my HDL was 120 and LDL was 90 and triglycerides were 36, my total cholestrol was 217, but with such great other readings they are not concerned. Plus they tested my vitamin D levels and they were at optimum levels too!

Glad to hear all went well! Sounds like you have a really terrific dr.

Ditto what they said about your shoulder. Don't worry about doing your normal activities, just don't raise it too high or lift too much weight with it. Anything else goes, you're not going to dislodge a lead.

Good news...

BTW, if you are young and active you might want to get that 130 upped a little higher if you will exercise up into your higher zones. Since I am not nearly pacing as much as you are I basically had them basically shut off my high end (my problem was going to low... sort of like the limbo) and I have already hit 110% of my theoretical max working out after implant but had mine put in towards the end of June last year and have been working out pretty regularly since.

I wasn't really self-conscious about it. I didn't even know I had one until around six or seven years old. I just thought I had a rock in my side.
