We got implanted on the same date :), I'm 24 years old.

I am healing fine but I am still not allowed to exercise for another 4 weeks which is preventing me from feeling like normal. I have been on activity restrictions for 2 months already which has me miserable...but everyone has said lets be safer rather than sorry.

Good luck!

I was your age when I got my first one. I'm 43 now, healthy, active, have two kids, run a business- most people don't even know I have it, they just see another crazy busy mom. I don't keep it a secret or anything, but it doesn't affect my day to day life and it's not tattooed on my forehead, lol, so it just hardly ever comes up.

My advice is don't let it slow you down, use it as a tool to lead a full and active life. Mine is just a part of me, a little gadget that wires around my wonky heart and makes it work like it's supposed to. I don't let it define who I am.

If you have any questions about living with it, please don't hesitate to ask! Know that the mental adjustment can be as hard, or harder, on some people than the physical healing. It takes some time to get used to it, to learn to trust it and feel normal again. But it will happen!

Hi Antwon
I got my PM on March 16th and I am still getting use to the idea of having this thing inside me. It does get better every day though so just hang in there. Ask all the questions you need to as this group is super. All the best to you.

Hi Antwon,

Got mine at the end of March. It's definitely been harder for me mentally than physically, even though I've had some complications. But being part of this group makes all the different. Post how you're feeling, your worries, or any questions and someone is guaranteed to make you feel better!

Welcome to the best PM Club in the World. Everyone on this site is so friendly and so helpful. You will find all the support you will need by using this site.

Just do what your Dr. tells you. Be patient and do not rush the Dr. "rules". Main thing, listen to your own body and do what it tells you. If you over do work or exercise, your body will let you know. Just listen.

I had my ablation/PM implant 10/09 and for the most part, I forget it is there unless I forget & bump it.

Let us hear from you often, and if you want to, go back to your "profile" and fill out where you are from or what country/state, year you were born, etc. We fellow members like to read other members' profiles.
