There IS life post-PM

I just came out of my first Masters swimming competition since my operation. I did OK too. Knocked off 2 seconds off my best time for 50 m butterfly. Not bad for a 59 year-old!

What a great accomplishment. I am very happy with 16 laps doing the freestyle at the gym, the butterfly is much more strenuous stroke. I got my ICD on July 1st at 56.

Thanks for your comments. I just uploaded a photo of me sucking in my gut at the pool as I'm talking to our team president.
Jaykay: Thanks
Debra: Just keep plugging. Add on an extra lap now and then and you'll soon be swimming 3k per session.
Pookie: I can always count on you for a kind comment.
Frank: No one can accuse you of not paying attention!
Federico: Grazie per i tui commenti. Spero che il mio pacemaker mi farà andare ancora più velocemente!

I've seen many posts about people being concerned about exercise after having a device so thought I would let you know that yesterday I raced my first marathon since having my pacemaker fitted in fall 2004.
