Hi everyone! Well, THE day is nearly here! Tomorrow (Tues 27th July) I am going into hospital for my EP study/probable sinus node modification/ablation & possible pacemaker implantation. PLEASE be thinking of me!
Thank you all so much for all your help & support since I joined this club a few weeks ago, to find out about pacemakers etc. You've been brilliant.
I will post again when I come out of hospital. If I need a pacemaker after the sinus node modification/ ablation...they plan to put it in on Wednesday (unless it needs to go in urgently tomorrow).
I'll let you know how I get on....
Thanks & best wishes
Janey

I'll certainly keep you in my thoughts and prayers tomorrow, Janey. Hope everything goes well and you'll soon be restored to your full horsepower. I understand only too well how apprehensive you're feeling today - impossible to feel otherwise - but remember, things are never as bad as you imagine they're gong to be. Be safe and well. All love, Sheila
Best wishes!!!

It will be over before you know it! I had the same situation with an ablation first then a pacemaker. I think the anxiety is the worst part!! We will be thinking of you and wishing you a speedy recovery!!!
The build-up is the worst part

Had my first PM 24th June 10. The days leading up were the worst part, not knowing what to expect. If you do get a PM, you'll be fine. Afterwards you'll soon feel better and want to do more than you're allowed to for several weeks. Afterwards I thought "What was I bothered about!" I've experienced very little discomfort and I hope you'll be the same. Best wishes...

Wishing you all the very best! I know you are going to be fine and feel great.
I will be in a similar situation to you in a few weeks. I may be having a sinus node modification in my EP study. It's all a waiting game.
Please tell us how you go and how you feel.
Thinking of you!
Good Luck

Hi Janey.
Good luck for tomorrow, I had my PM implanted in April 2010, like most of the guys I was not looking forward to the procedure due to the unknown, however, once/ if you get your PM you'll wonder what all the worry was about.
Cheers.

The UNknown is the worst part of waiting for this. Had I taken the advice of my PM Friends, I would not have been so nervous and enjoyed the 'ride'.
Let us hear from you on your Great progress. Our prayers and thoughts are with you.
Good luck and Bear Hugs to You,

I got my pm/defib 3 weeks ago. Everything went as planned. I've had very little discomfort and have gone back to work and am driving again. Just take your recovery one day at a time....don't rush it.
