ECG on Monday

Hi all. Latest news from me. I was too scared to go to A&E last Tuesday when I had the chest pain. I didn't want to "make a fuss over nothing" if it turned out to be nothing. Stupid I know! Especially as I had more chest pain on Wednesday.

On Thursday I decided to e-mail the Specialist Arrhythmia Nurse at the hospital. I told him how I'd been having chest pain & also that my blood pressure was 85/50 (GP checked it week before) & I feel dizzy all the time. I asked if this is "normal" post ablation?

The nurse said NO it is not normal! He said my symptoms definately need investigating. He thinks my dizziness is being caused by my very low BP. But he said you shouldn't get a low BP & chest pain post op like this.

He has asked me to go to the hospital for an ECG on Monday. It's slightly complicated in that I am returning to work on Monday morning, after 3 months off sick with arrhythmia symptoms & then recovery time post op. I have GOT to go into work on Monday morning....you may remember work had been threatening to dismiss me on the grounds of incapability. I daren't take anymore time off!! So I'm going to the hospital on Monday afternoon, after my morning at work.

The nurse is going to come & see me when I've had the ECG done & explain the results etc.

I am so "mixed up". When I had the ablation & felt great for the first week after, I thought all my problems were solved! Then I noticed my heart rate does not go up very much on exertion (still got this problem too) from week 2 onwards. Then the dizziness & low BP. Then the chest pain. While I'm really pleased to be going back to work, at the same time I am battling with the fact things are not ok with the arrhythmia etc.

I am nervous about what the ECG may show on Monday! But, at the same time, relieved that I plucked up the courage to tell someone at the hospital that I've not been well & thankful that they are acting very quickly to investigate.

I'll keep you posted...

Best wishes
Janey

You know you're wired when...

You have an excuse for gaining an extra ounce or two.

I had a pacemaker when I was 11. I never once thought I wasn't a 'normal kid' nor was I ever treated differently because of it. I could do everything all my friends were doing; I just happened to have a battery attached to my heart to help it work.
