Is Massage safe with PM

Before I got my PM a year ago I would get an occasional massage. I have pulled a ligament in leg now and think it would be helpful to have a theraputic massage to help it heal. I have such a fear of being touch anywhere near my PM. Would even my back need to be avoided above the waist for fear of disrupting the PM.? I am a 71 year old woman with SSS being my only health issue.

Go for it. Just tell them if you don't want them massaging near it. Your back is fine.

Thank you Trace E and Electric Frank for your comments. I wish I could relax but it's my nature to worry. I don't have the temperment to have a PM but I need to get over it. I will call the massage woman asap.

No problem

Most good massage therapists are used to dealing with a sensitive area. I've had a number of full boy massages since getting the pacer. I just let them know I have it and make sure they actually take a look at the area. Then I relax and enjoy it. I've actually had one therapist massage gently around the pacemaker site a few months after the surgery to loosen up things. No problem at all. My experience is that they are more concerned about it than I am.

By the way I'm 80 so age is no problem.
