I just bought a Kindle a couple of weeks ago but I had first contacted Medtronic. They told me it would be fine as long as I kept it 6" away from my site especially when downloading. I assumed that was their standard statement and have had no problems using it.

I have the pandigital from Barnes & Noble & it doesn't bother me one bit.
I have a dual lead Medtronic & am 99% paced.

Had a Kindle over a year

No issues with my Kindle - owned it since last Christmas. Haven't even thought about keeping it 6" away from my PM - in fact if I read lying down in bed, it often ends up resting on my chest - absolutely no effect (and I'm 100% paced). Agree with dottodot: it's their standard statement.

it's fine

I've had a kindle since they first came out. I often read in bed and prop it on my chest, right about where my pm is. I get online and download. I've never noticed any interference from any electronic device and I've never worried much about the 6" rule. I also use my cell phone on the left side and clip my ipod on my top when I work out. I'm 100% paced and have a very low underlying rate so I'd notice pretty quickly if anything was interfering. I agree with dot, it's a standard and overly conservative warning. If you feel funny, move it away from your device, but most likely you won't have to worry about it.

Do feel free to contact the manufacturer of your device. I have found them to be quite helpful when I have had questions and concerns.
