Implementation complication

I have today been discharged from hospital some 10 days after initial implimentation. My consultant commenced implimentaion using a MRI compliant lead. This got stuck and couldn’t be removed by the cardiologist. They continued with the operation, which I was told would last 1 hour, eventually finishing 4 hours later.

After some meetings with another cardiologist from another hospital, they advised me to have the MRI compliant lead removed. They did this yesterday.

All seems OK now.
Anybody else been through pacing lead removal?
I would not like to go through with this procedure again. It’s been a nightmare.

I think it was very rude and thoughtless for you to tell us about your unfortunate hospital stay. It's not very reassuring for those of us that have not yet had our surgery.

I'll be careful

If I have any complications and die I won't post it here.

3 yrs when I had the 2nd PM put in. All went well & I did not stay any longer than usual (just over night). I bet it all has to do with size of the blood vessel. Wonder if the MRI comp. is larger than the usual ones?

Oh well, glad your out & feeling better.
