checkups

Thank you for the info re: my checkups and the land line phones. I found it very difficult to purchase a corded wall phone. For my checkups I set the transtelephonic transmitter
on the kitchen table and use the corded wall phone.
It has a lot of static, and they suggested I get a new phone.
Just can't find a corded wall phone. There are very few with
cords and they are desk phones.

Also, my pacemaker has been in since July 2005, so apparently this is why they check my pacer every month.
Also, thank you Pacergirl, Frank, and Dr. Valtos. Your
info was all very helpful to me. Rose Chukusky

My pacer checks

by Beckes76 - 2010-12-31 10:12:01

I got my latest PM in July of 2005 also. I guess mine is still pretty good. Got it checked in Oct and all was okay. My next phone pacer check is not until April. Everybody is different. This is my 4th one though.

in a base (one in the kitchen & other in bedroom). I got them at Wal-mart. Also just bought a new desk phone from Radio Shack that has a corded hand set that came with it. I live in Alaska & have no problem buying a phine. Are your really rural in PA & is that why you can't get a phone. Guess I just am not clear about why you are having trouble getting a new phone.

You actually don't use the phone during a transmission. As long as you have an empty phone jack or even unplug your phone to get a temporary place to connect the Care Link unit it will work fine. You can also get a phone extension cord at Radio Shack that would let you use the kitchen jack but move away from interfering sources.
