Solar Storms/2012.
I hear that in 2012 there will an increase in solar storms and that large amounts of electro/magnetic energy will hit the earth. This energy may well shut down mobile phones,effect satellites and disturb other facilities.
Does anyone know whether this will effect ICDs?

Hey Graham,
As Tracey said our PMs will not be affected. Some of the reasons for this is it is well protected first by our body and then by the titanium case in which it is housed. Also, it is not transmitting radio waves that go to the ionsphere and get bounced back to earth. Our cell phones do transmit such signal and can be affected. The satellites are above the ionsphere and have little protection against the effects of the magnetic field created by a solar storm.
And that is all I can tell you about something I really don't know diddly about.

If the radiation from a solar flare was strong enough to cause problems with the pacer we might as well hang out inside one of those Japanese reactors for protection. lol
