exercise bikes

Can anyone recommend a decent, but not too expensive recumbent bike. There are so many out there it makes my head swim, no it's not the med's! I am the first to admit that i hate exercise, used to get mine walking the dogs a couple of times a day. that has been my husbands job for the last year or so. I got weaker, not knowing i had heart failure, so now i have my CRT-D, and i hope to get back to the walking. However i live in south florida, and as anyone who lives here can tell you, it gets very hot and sticky (starting soon unfortunately) and for some reason, this causes me to have palpitations, so i have been looking for an exercise bike for the times i dont walk, I also need advise about whether a magnetic bike will be a problem, believe me when i tell you, i am not over the moon about this exercise stuff, but i have gained 2 pounds over the last three weeks, i know it's the inactivity, but i have lost 12 pounds since december, and do not want to go back.

Congrats on the weight loss!

I don't have any advice on bikes, but are you near a Play It Again Sports? I got a gym quality stairmaster there that cost about the same as the home type I had been shopping, an nfl player bought it to rehab a knee. It's hit or miss but there are a lot of pro athletes in SoFl so you might get lucky. If nothing else, you should be able to try out some different brands. And yes, stay away from the ones with magnets. Tho, honestly, I've never paid attention and I've used them at my clubhouse and in physical therapy and never had a problem. Just test it before you buy it, you'll know right away if it's a problem.

I'm in SoFl also. Hasn't this weekend been wonderful!?!? Sad to know it'll be stinkin hot again in a few weeks.

p.s.

If you start early enough in the morning, you may be able to walk year round. I switch around what I do for exercise, but my dogs need to get out or they make me crazy! I take them right around sunrise in the hot months.

You know you're wired when...

You have a little piece of high-tech in your chest.

I finished 29th in London in 2 hours 20 minutes 30 seconds which is my fastest with or without a device so clearly it didn’t slow me down ! I had no problems apart from some slight chaffing on my scar - more Vaseline next time.
