Zumba

I received pm July 8,2011 and prior to pm took Zumba classes which I loved. Has anyone with pm resumed Zumba after pm and is it possible?

I have been do the Zumba Wii for a while now. I have had my PM since 1/2010. I could not have done Zumba before and to be truthful, I can't do it now, but it isn't because of the PM it is because I aint got no rythym or something. My right becomes my left and my hips never really moved that way. So, the PM didn't help me do Zumba, but it did make me physically able to do it! Be sure to check with your Dr before moving forward though, everyone is different.

Give your self some time you haven't had your PM very long. It took me 6 months before I could build up my stamina to WANT to do a lot, but now, if there is something I want to do, the PM doesn't get in the way it just helps me feel better!

Thank you both for your input. This whole pacemaker issue has really affected me emotionally. I just need to get back to doing things I love. I dont have alot of patience for waiting but guess I better get use to it. lol
I dont like having to worry about if Im doing something to harm the pacemaker but what is the alternative? I guess we can get use to anything if given time. Need to be thankful there are pacemakers.
Zumba is my favorite way to exercise so Im glad to know it can work. Right now I dont feel as energetic as I thought I would. Still get tired too much. I have brady/tachy and they still need to do med adjustments.

said it was okay to resume Zumba once it was okay to lift my arm (six weeks). Seemed strange since we also have to be so careful with being bounced around on things such as roller coasters (my question since I was going on vacation eight weeks after my implant this past May - but maybe that was because of the G-force), anyway...I did resume Zumba, and I've been fine. I did feel weak to begin with, and I think I scared myself more than anything. I started out modifying the moves by not fully extending my arms, but after a couple of classes, I was right back into things. I've been having some other issues (not related to Zumba) that required me to have another x-ray, and no loose or fractured leads so I guess Zumba really is okay :) Good luck to you, and try to enjoy your classes. Zumba is awesome!!!

You know you're wired when...

Your pacemaker interferes with your electronic scale.

I feel so blessed to have this little gem implanted in me. When I think of the alternative it is quite overwhelming sometimes.
