leads/how would i know if it came out

hey. have had my PM in for one week. have my first checkup tomorrow. I'm 54 and have had a fairly active recovery so far...HOW WOULD i KNOW IF ONE OF MY LEADS WAS OUT?
are there classic symptoms. I'm basically feeling good, but finding myself very worried about it.
any answers/advice would be most welcome..thanks, neal

Lead dislodgement

Depending on how much you use your device to paced, you may not. However the good news is the leads are connected at the ends (helix/screw like ending) and also connected by several stitches closer to the pacemaker for support. Put you mind at ease and trust that everything is ok. The rep in you area will run test to make sure the leads are in the correct location. Remember to follow post charge instructions given by the physician and hospital. Limit the use on the arm on the side of the implant. (Extended arm above shoulder in stretching manner, lifting more than 10lbs with left arm.)

thanks so much for your comments. I have my first checkup tomorrow in the am so hopefully after that I can put my mind at ease...just hard at the beginning not to overthink every little movement and feeling on my left side...:)

dont you guys have alarms on yours if something like your lead broke or the battery gose bad i know mine dose but i have a ICD

When mine came lose I almost passed out. I've only passed out once over 30 years ago and it had nothing to do with my heart. My HR dropped down in the 40's and I got reeaallly light headed. I had been to the Dr the day before and everything seemed fine. Next thing I knew they had me back in the OR reinserting the lead.

The first dodgey lead I had produced no symptoms at all.. The second dodgey lead was far more obvious.. Strange twinges that eventually lead to chest pain.

I don't get paced all that often anymore so its unlikely I would even notice if my PM died in the arse completely.. (touch wood!)
