Tanning beds

Well I've been tanning for the past month and I'm still here. However, please keep in mind that tanning beds can cause skin cancer but have no effect on your pacemaker.

Wendy: Saw a report on TV this AM about tanning beds. (House Calls segment on Fox News Network Sun Show). Stated that for the same amount of exposure time, tanning beds give you SEVEN times the cancer causing UV rays.

Also (but not on the show), I believe that fresh scar tissue is more sensitive to UV than normal skin. I'd heed the admonition of your Cardio.

Further, as a Floridian during my teen years, I got far more sunburns than I'd like to remember. I would: a) Don't go near a tanning bed, b) wear long sleeve shirts all year round & slather sunscreen SPF 75 on everything exposed to the Sun & c) Move to Alaska.

A pacemaker completely solved my problem. In fact, it was implanted just 7 weeks ago and I ran a race today, placed first in my age group.
