Hello, new here.

I got my pacemaker Oct 9. I was supposed to have a meeting with dr and a rep from the company but I had complications and was in the hospital and rehab for 3 weeks. So I really don’t know what to expect. The device has not been checked. That is scheduled for the 21st.  I get this heartbeat that hurts. It comes and goes usually when I am active but sometimes at rest too. People keep asking me how it is doing but I have no idea.unfortunately, I have a lot of other medical problems, some of which are more pressing right now. I saw this forum and thought maybe it would be a good place to learn about this device. Thanks.

Hi Hikerdude!
I'm up in Erie and also got my PM on October 9.  I had my first device check just over a week ago and it was a pretty simple appointment.  They took some readings, tested the leads.  All good except I learned that I'm pacing more than I anticipated.  Whomp.  Anyway, I too get a sesation every once in a while - not quite pain.  Perhpas it is just me being hyper aware of my robot part.

i do have some pain, about a one or up to three. I don’t know if I should call the cardiologist but he is booked into March so it wouldn’t matter anyway. My grandson is very anxious to know how much I am pacing. I just want to know it is working right and stop this weird pain. The pacemaker itself is almost on top of my shoulder and I can feel it under my skin.
