Anxiety

After being home 5 days I still have not had a full night sleep seems like I wake up about 3 a.m. anxious and when I check my blood pressure it's high at that point I normally take a Xanax and try and go back to sleep hopefully I'll adjust to this device sooner then later and get back to a more normal life.

put away the monitors

The best way to drive yourself crazy is constantly checking your bp and pulse. If you feel bad it's ok to check, but continuously tracking little nuances, perfectly normal fluctuations, will make you crazy. If you wake up at night, watch some tv or read a book for a bit, don't pull out the monitors or start counting your pulse or anything else that will get you focused on your heart.

Would it help to take the xanax at bedtime?

Are you waking up at the exact same time every night? Some devices are set to do an automatic daily self check so it's possible you are feeling that. They often program it during the night so we sleep through it. It can be turned off if it's a problem. Or sometimes knowing that's all it is is enough.

And, 5 days isn't that long. Cut yourself some slack. You've got to still be sore, that alone will make it hard to sleep the first few weeks. It's normal to take time to adjust, both physically and emotionally. You'll get there, I promise.

Everything Tracey said. Also, know that for me day 14 has been been an obvious turning point both times. Had my redo on the 6th of this month, just starting to really feel like myself again. Those first few days, first week really, can kinda suck. It gets better, I promise.
