Alternative Therapies

I live in Wales and have had a dual pacemaker for 5 years. I have some other health issues which maybe resolved with reflexology but the practitioner wants me to find out first if I am able to undergo the treatment.

Has anybody any information or had any experience with it pleae ?

Reflexology won't hurt your pacemaker

My neice is a reflexologist, a really good one. She's worked on my feet numerous times, with no harm done. I have also had acupuncture, a different method of affecting the same subtle energy, or chi.

Although I'd be the first to acknowledge that there are subtle energies, and reflexology could affect various organs and support overall health, I hugely doubt if it would have any measurable effect on a pacemaker. Nothing about having a pacemaker would make it a bad idea to improve one's overall health.

Let's get real. Reflexology is dealing with subtle energetic flows within the body. There is nothing subtle about the electrical pulses generated by a pacemaker. they are so different it's not even like apples to oranges; it's like comparing apples to squirrels.

I believe the practitioner is hesitating out of an overabundance of caution--or perhaps an ignorance of exactly what a pacemaker is or how it works.
