an update

Hey y'all,
I posted a couple of months ago about swelling and congestion in my left arm. Since then, I finally had a venogram done and a new blockage in my subclavien vein ballooned twice and stented. I am glad another "venoplasty" has given me relief, although this was by far the most painful surgery I've had yet! The Dr. decided to go through a vein in my arm, and I wanted to scream through most of the procedure! They gave me a small amount of versid, which I'm totally immune to. They do need you to be conscious however so you can hold your breath when they tell you. One piece of good news is that the stent in my SVC has remained open and is allowing good blood flow! I was able to see that myself on the screen. Another thing I observed was that my pacemaker is sitting absolutely horizontally and not vertically anymore! This was not commented on! No surprise there. But I knew my pacer had shifted. Any how, I thought I'd let you all know the outcome of my arm swelling.

Thanks for the comments Jessie and Amy and Billie! There's been NO mention of repositioning my pacemaker Amy. I think they will wait until I need a battery change. My pocket has been opened for various reasons 4x and I think the tissue is just not holding anymore. It doesn't bother me unless I raise my arm over to the right across my chest. I am enjoying little Aylla very, very much! She is now 3 months today! Jessie, I mailed you something yesterday. Just a little something! Have a great week end all!

Why for all these heart surgeries or procedures do we need to be awake? I to have a problem when they say we will give you something to relax you. That never seems to happen and they say at least 4 or 5 times to give her more. We shouldn't have to fell any pain it is the year 2008 people! So are they going to adjust your pm? Is your's under the skin or muscle? Mine is just skin. Enjoy that little girl! They sure grow up fast. Hope you are doing better.

In my prayers,

Amy
