Abnormal beats

After I got my pacemaker last week, my rhythm shows as abnormal also. They explained it to me like this - instead of my beats going lub, dub, lub, dub, lub, dub, sometimes it will go lub, lub, lub, dub, but that it was still ok. Not sure if this is what yours is doing. Hope it helps some though.

Abnormal EKGs...

Hi Zeena.

I've had an abnormal EKG before and after the pacemaker. I have an inverted P wave. I can't feel anything, but was most concerned the first time I saw the words "abnormal EKG" on a particular medical report. So, I called my doctor and he explained everything and I'm now fine with it.

The best thing to do, in my opinion, is to contact your doctor or cardiologist, that way you will have peace of mind.

If, while in hospital for your fibroid, and the doctors saw this abnormal EKG and were very concerned about it, they would have kept you....or let's just hope they would.

Again, give your doctor a shout so you will feel better. You might even want to ask him for a stress test to see that your pacemaker is working fine while exercising. Hey, go even on step further and ask for an ultrasound of your heart. There are lots of tests they can do, so don't be shy to ask.

It is just over 10 years since a dual lead device was implanted for complete heart block. It has worked perfectly and I have traveled well near two million miles internationally since then.
