Blah!

Hey fellow pacer girls and guys. I endend up in the ER yesterday due to my "mysterious symptoms". This was at the hospital more local (where I do not go for heart follow - ups) at 2 pm due to chest pains, pressure, and everything else. I had finally had enough, so I went to the nurse several times and the third time I went to the ER. They ran about 2 million blood tests (looks like I was shooting "illegal drugs" :)), an EKG, and chest X - Rays. Again, nothing was found, but at least the doctor that I saw actually showed interest and concern (I also knew him from career day in middle school). So refreshing! He said, like everyone else, that it could be anxiety related and prescribed a four - day trial of Xanax (spelling?). Took half a dose last night and it made me feel even worse! I'm still having chest pain and didn't take any this morning, but we'll see how the day goes...

Xanax

Please don't listen to anyone here who tells you how greatl Xanax or Lorazam are. All "benzos" are dangerous drugs and highly addictive. They turn you into a zombie. Since you are a student, I would stay away from any mind-altering drug. Doctors like to prescribe that stuff because it keeps the patients quiet and non-complaining.
Best of lck in your quest for good health.

Hope you get to feeling better

Sorry you're having a rough time.
Xanax is usually pretty good stuff. I've never heard of it making anyone feel worse. Sorry it had that effect on you. Maybe they can give you something else to knock the edge off.
Let us know how you're doing.

That is my self diagnosis

I kid the doc that I have been diagnosed with VHFL. That is Very Healthy Feel Lousy. The problem is that the only treatment is some med that changes the condition to VSFL (Very Sick Feel Lousy).

I hope today is a better day! Sending lotsa hugs and well wishes.

this same thing has been happening to me for 3 years now. after several hospital visits and numerous tests that said my heart was ok i read catheryn's posts on this site and i believe i am having what she had. I am checking into a dermatologist right away and see what happens. you might want to do the same. they tried me on all kinds of antianxiety drugs..nothing helped or took the pain away!

I have a well tuned pacer. I hardly know I have it. I am 76 year old, hike and camp alone in the desert. I have more energy than I have had in a long time. The only problem is my wife wants to have a knob installed so she can turn the pacer down.
