PM Beeping

Thank you for your response. I didn't know that cary_58 wasn't a member anymore. Marilyn, I have just had this new one put in Nov. '07. I wouldn't think my battery would be down by now, but then again who knows. I ran the other one down in 5 years. I am hoping this one will last longer. I have heard some people say that their drs told them there was no way that they could have heard it beeping and then I have had others tell me that their drs said it could. I'm just a little mixed up right now. Thanks for your input.
Keep on pacing!!!

I have a medtronic and it is set to beep at 4:00 PM if anything requiring attention has happened in the last 24 hours. It is very audibel if you are in a quite setting. Some of the things it would beep for are low battery, detection of a broken lead, An eposode of AF that required therapy but not a zap, and any other things that you should contact your doctor asbout

It beeps for just about 30 seconds everyday at the time it is set for. The medtronic person at the hospital asked me what time I wanted it set for and I said 5:00 that was during daylite saving time, so now in the winter it is set for 4:00 as it is still on daylite time.

... you can't get to the Dr's for a few days? How often does it beep? Man, that would drive me nuts.

A pacemaker completely solved my problem. In fact, it was implanted just 7 weeks ago and I ran a race today, placed first in my age group.
