Pain Report

I just realized that it has been 3 1/2 months since my replacement surgery. I never have had enough pain or sensitivity to limit my activities, and I'm not even aware that the pacer is there most of the time. I did go through a period where there were sutures migrating out that would snag on my shirt, but I fixed that by pulling them out with tweezers.

The old pacer used to get caught between my clavicle and collar bones, but never really hurt. This one seems to glide over all that. For those who don't know me I'm 80 yrs, relatively thin and I can feel the outline of the pacer under my skin.

Since one of the questions that comes up often is how long a pacer implant/replacement takes to heal I thought this might be helpful. Remember, we all heal differently and surgeons technique varies.

best,

frank

be just like you when I grow up! Glad to hear the new one is more comfortable.

I'm 3 months out next week and I'd say 95%, feeling great with a just a little sensitivity around the new incision if I wear something that rubs it for too long. The cleaned up pocket is totally healed and feeling fantastic. I didn't realize just how achy it had gotten until it was all gone. We just booked our summer trip, gonna hit Zions and hike some of the slot canyons. Been shopping for water hiking shoes and stepping up my work outs. Can't wait to break the new pm in properly!

Took me until my 70's to grow up

Now I start growing down.

The summer trip sounds great.

I just want to share about the quality of life after my pacemaker, and hopefully increase awareness that lifestyles do not have to be drastically modified just because we are pacemaker recipients.
