exercises using weights

hello, does anyone know about using weights with doing exercises. I am now using 2 handheld weights each one weighing 1 kg = 2.2 lbs
even with this I am still a bit concerned about breaking and/or damaging one of my leads to my heart failure pacemaker that I have for the cardiac resynchronization therapy.
Anyone know up to what weights is safe?
Thanks for any info.Greetings Pacey.

Light weights should not be a problem. I was doing curls and lateral raises with 25lb dumbells prior to my pm replacement last week. Usually 3 sets of 8 reps. I gave up bench pressing after my first pm 7 years ago. I plan to resume dumbells in a month or so. Just walking on a treadmill for now.

should be fine...

I workout 1-1.5 hrs/weekday with weights. No issues. My EP told me no restrictions (Except the contact sports, caffine, decongestants, usual stuff).

I also doubt I would listen anyways. My attitude is if you want to put it there, then you make sure it's not going to break performing normal movements anyone's body is capable of doing.

Now, I will say it probably irritates my tissue when you are lifting heavy weights and that chunk of metal slides against your muscle, etc, but I'm still not going to stop......

it's fine

You're not likely to ruin a lead lifting weights. If something pulls or hurts, don't do it, but many of us lift weights without any problems.

Hi There.

I have no restrictions on weights or activities, although I did wait quite a few months to make sure that PM site and leads were all healed and fixed in place thoroughly before starting anything.

As Tracey says... If it hurts ...don't do it....at least for a while...then try again....Just like any excercise you will have to build it up.
