Settings Adjustment

I had posted about a month ago about wanting my upper limit raised as it was set very low. It was set to track to 100 and sense to 105! Super low!
My Cardio –who actually listened to me – contacted the EP and they agreed that I needed to have it changed. It took awhile to get an appt at the PM clinic but I had my usual technician and 2 other women (think they were nurses that work with my EP team). It was a long appointment that involved me literally running around the hospital and up and down stairs to check all the settings each time they changed them! I felt ridiculous but oh it was so great when everything was tweaked and it all worked!
They never give me a report directly – I have to get it from my Cardio office, but they changed my tracking to 150 and sensing to 160. They did not increase my rate response (it was on low) but they may have turned it off as they were discussing that.
I went on my whitewater rafting trip and the hike down to the river was great – I can walk and talk at the same time! My HR actually gets into the ‘fat burning zone’. I was nervous about them messing with the settings but they took their time, listen to me (I was armed with all the advice from here!)
I’ve been doing weightwatchers and am also working with a Dr. from primary’s office on nutrition and weight loss and have lost 6 ½ lbs in the past 3 weeks.
I know that if I didn’t have this board available to read, post, question and learn about my pm that I wouldn’t have questioned my settings as much as I did. From my readings I know that I am lucky that my Drs do listen to me but I have to form the right questions and this place is a huge help with that.

Thanks for all the help and support.
Sandy

Yes weight loss should be slow - I'm working with a Dr and I know that most of the early weight loss is water weight. Her goal for me is about a lb a week. Weightwatchers says 1-2 lbs a week. I'm sure it will round out to that in the long run. I feel amazing and never ever thought I would like to exercise but I actually do!

Excellent!!!!!!

It always brings a smile to my face when I get to read such an encouraging post.

It also gives hope to others that may feel not so good, it may just give them the boost they need to "push" their doctors a bit to get the correct settings as well.

^5 on the weight loss too...remember, take it slow.

I have to laugh

I have to laugh because I totally did that myself. When they were messing with my settings I had to run up and down the stairs and then run into the office and throw on the little wand. I am sure it was quite comical to watch. Thankfully the stairs were pretty private so I only ran into a few people, but you have to wonder what they are thinking about us!!

You know you're wired when...

You have a dymo-powered bike.
