incision nad placement issues

had my pm changed out on 1/22/09. incision not healing well, very wide like its being pulled apart...(wound nurse said by "large breasts pull on it???") the area feels very taunt and pacer outline can be felt and seen, seems to close to surface.. can feel it when I move. my first one did not feel this way! should I be concerned? my first one onlyl asted 3 rs due to 100% pacing

Did they put the first one under the muscle and this one just under the skin? Mine is under the muscle, and my son's is only under the skin...so his can be seen and felt more. If you feel the incision isn't healing properly, you might want to go back and let the surgeon who did it take a look at it. If he feels the breast tissue could be pulling it apart, he might want to have you wear a special bra or binder to take the pressure off until it heals completely. I had mine replaced on 1/27/09, and they made the incision at the base of the old scar...the old one is wide, but this one is very thin and healing well...I'd have the doctor just double check it.

They use the same pocket when they can but it sounds like they made a new one. I've had three replacements now, all used the same incision (cut through the scar) and same pocket. It's possible for the weight of the breast to pull on it, but I'd think you'd feel the pulling! I agree with proudmom, it sounds like they put it just under the skin this time. I'd ask the surgeon to take a peek at it.

If the pulling is an issue, try those shelf bra tank tops. Gap and Old Navy have them in all sorts of colors and they layer well. I live in those after a replacement, way more comfortable than twisting to get a regular bra on.

Did you get new leads also? Wondering why you only got three years. Even pacing 100%, that's pretty short. New leads would explain why they moved it a bit.

a bad lead can drain the battery prematurely

I was wondering why my new PM seems a bit noticeable. Mine is only under the skin but my mams are not as little as they used to be and must be pulling on my skin. This has been a 'light bulb moment' for me. I thought that it was still a bit of swelling.
