Skye,

I was only paced 2-3%, so in your case, they will probably take more risks to get your new pacer back in quicklly. My EP said 6 months would be ideal, but many people can't endure that amount of time.

The problem is, a pacer pocket is a deep wound, and either needs a drain and closure, or to be left open and packed daily.

To see if your brast is in the way, you need to find the bottom of your pacer. The drain tube would need to go about 1" above that point. If th ebreast is in the way, maybe the drain could go to the left of it, a bit off to the side.

Sutures and a drain tube sure beats an open wound and daily packing. However, if your infection caused any tissue necrosis, the pocket will probably have to remain open until it heals.

You are in my thoughts and prayers, Best of luck to you.
