This depends on several issues....

What is your origional heart condition?

If you simply have an arrythmia (that isn't made worse by exertion), but your heart is otherwise fine or do you have an underlying heart condition that affects the structure of your heart.

what kind of heart medications do you take?

The amount and type of medications can interfer with your ability to exert yourself.

What are the settings on your defib?

for example, if you ICD is set to shock at 160, that isn't going to really work with any serious exercise. If yours is lke mine, set to over 220 before it does anything, you are ok.

I for example still lift heavy Monday through Friday for 1.5 hrs or so, then usually ride my bike for 30-60 minutes on weekends.

I would say the best person to ask..

would be your DOCTOR.
Your doctor knows your exact health conditions. Before you start any exercise program you should always check with your doctor first.
Your doctor will be able to tell you exactly what you should and should not do.
That would be the best place to start. Go to the source first.

In fact after the final "tweaks" of my pacemaker programming at the one year check up it is working so well that I forget I have it.
