Irritation & Change off meds...

It has been a short while since I posted. I have been frustrated with an eczema like rash right over my pm site. My G.P. gave me some hydrocortisone but in using it, it seems less angry but happening over a larger area. Has anyone experienced similar rashes over their pm site??

I was reading on previous posts of other's experience with betablocker meds and asked my Dr. to try an experiment. We are weaning me off of the Metoprolol (I was on the very lowest dose anyway) to see if my energy level picks up. So far my blood pressure and heart rate have been fairly steady (high hr was why my cardiologist prescribed bb's in the first place).

Other irritations...my referral to a cardiologist closer to home! I was referred in March to this new Dr. whose office called me to confirm an appt for June (with my name on a cancellation list). I got a call Monday advising me that he didn't want to see me until after my next pm clinic in September! It was a good thing I didn't check my blood pressure right after that phone call. I had freakin steam coming out of my ears!! He is supposed to be a fantastic Dr. so I guess I will hold on. At least I can get in to see my current Cardio until then.

rash?

If you are having a rash over your PM site, you need to talk to your EP or cardio doc right away. The only thing I can think of (from my researching PM's before I got mine) is that some people develop basically an allergic reaction to the metal of the PM. If you are getting a rash over that site, it sounds like it may be an allergic reaction which may require some changes and maybe removal of the PM. Not trying to scare you and I may be totally wrong, but it is better to have them check it out then to leave it be. Let us know how things go and what they find out.

I am allergic to amioderone, but didn't have any reaction until almost two weeks after taking it then I suddenly broke out in hives all over. Even if that isn't it, is better safe then sorry.

You would think an allergic reaction would be immediate. I have had mine since January. I will call the cardio doc and see what she thinks.

have appt

I have an appt with my cardio Dr. at the hospital where I got the implant today at 3pm. Had a dream that I was covered in hives all over due to PM! Right now it is just freakin itchy.

Will provide an update after the appt.

Thanks,

Jane

I am not planning on letting any of this shorten my life. I am planning on living a long happy battery operated life. You never know maybe it will keep me alive longer. I sure know one thing I would have been dead before starting school without it.
