Okay, so it hasn't been a year but I am due in next week to get myself checked out. I have been working out a lot lately, going above my theoretical max as I push my bike up big hills getting ready for the Triple Bypass but the one think I keep feeling is days were the best way to describe it is I am skipping beats or feeling like my pulse is out of sync. I had a day recently where I felt sluggish and sure enough I would check my pulse and I was just above 60 when it should have been in the hi...

I had my stress test Friday and showed Non Sustained Ventricular tacycardia, My cardiologist stated I had some runs of 1-3 beats, then 4-5 beats during the test. He is referring me back to my EP Doctor and is not sure why this is happening. My echo was normal. I have had 3 ablations in the past for SVT. I have a pacemaker now for Abrupt Bradycardia. Has anyone ever had this before? I have been feeling like I am going to collapse at times lately, comes on suddenly. Chest pain comes and goes. Fami...

Just had my first checkup since getting the new Medtronic Adapta L ADDRL 1. All went well. When the new pacer was programmed back in Jan the upper limit was set down to 130 by the computer based on my age. I talked it over with the Medtronic rep and saw no reason for not setting it back up to 150 like the old one. Even the cardiologist concurred so everything went smooth.
I continue to be impressed with Medtronic. The rep is willing to go over all my picky questions in detail in a fri...

I rang and got an early check up because I didnt feel right. I was breathless going up hills and my pulse didnt go up. I asked them if the rate response was turned on she looked and said no and it should have been. She is going to ask the Prof if she can turn the upper rate up to 150. I wish they had done that right I've been very worried why I felt so flat. Does the rate response make a big difference to how you feel? After she turned it on I got really exhausted. Is my heart not used to all th...

I have only had my pacemaker for a year, I am 30 yrs old. I have SVT and Abrupt Bradycardia. I have gone through 3 ablations, 2 rf ablations and 1 cryoabation. I have always had atrial tachy but now this time when I got my pacemaker checked its showd 7 Ventricular High rate episodes and 0 atrial episodes, is this dangerous? Does this mean I have Ventricular Tachycardia? I have been feeling like I am going to collapse lateley and its a scary feeling. I also had 135 rate drop episodes. I have a r...

Hi everyone,
I am so glad I found this support site. This is all new to me - one day I was fine and two days later I was in the hospital having a pm implanted. I noticed on St. Patrick's Day that I was suddenly short of breath just walking normally and figured I had better go to the emergency room and find out what was going on. I am 63 years old and had never been hospitalizedf so it was really scary for me.My cardiologist told me it was second degree heart block and I had the pro...

Can anyone recommend a center, clinic, university hospital with a doctors name in the NJ/NYC area?
I would like to get a second opinion and ask if other tests are needed to make sure I have a correct diagnosis and we didn't leave something out!
Am about ready to hop on the plane and hit the Mayo Clinic!
ANY thoughts would greatly be appreciated.
THANK YOU
Wenditt

Does anyone experience shortness of breath, fatigue and weakness after bending over for a period of time? I was doing some gardening and when I got up from bending over, I felt those symptoms. I am getting somewhat frustrated because not only did I feel those symptoms while gardening, I can hardly mow the lawn without stopping because of getting very fatigued and short of breath. I read about people doing marathons that have pms; I just want to be able to mow my lawn. I have had my pm for ov...

I've been fatigued for about 6 wks now and can feel like I'm about to get completely out of breath several times a day with or w/o activity. Had appt with doc yesterday, they interrogated my pacemaker, it is working fine. They said I have one of the few PMs that has the ability to change the heart rate response -- they upped my heart rate response timing and I cannot get over how great I feel. I have probably told hubby 20 times that I didn't realize just how yucky I felt until they did that...

Hi all
I went to our local Pacemaker clinic at our hospital today and had my 11 day old pacemaker interogated. They told me all was perfect with my pacemaker and that it had paced 0% since implant. I know that is a good thing but is that very common with a pacemaker implant? Just curious. Thanks and all the best to each of you.

I had my third pm check-up a couple of days ago. Still pacing 99% ventrically, but Atrially down from 4.5% to 3%. Tecnician said everything really good but mentioned that there had been episodes of Pacemaker Induced Tachycardia and she could make an adjustment to the settings to counteract that. I don't need to have another check for 12 months so feeling really good about that, but can someome explain what P.I.T. is in (VERY)! simple language.
Also said up on screen that battery life left...

It seems like my pacemaker settings get messed up everytime I go in for a foolow up the the pacemeker technician. Does anyone else have this problem? I went for a routine check about 2 weeks ago and now my heart rate seems fast and I feel like I am having a constant panoc attack. Is there a standard setting for pacemakers? I am pacer dependent and am having this current pacemaker replced next week. I am just sick of always feeling like crap and having to go to the technician twice everytime...

Hi All,
I had posted previously that I was waiting for an appt with a Cardiologist at a VA hospital a couple of hours away from me. The General Practioner Dr. had reviewed the ECG results and said that I had a possible 1st degree block (?) I thought this odd when they had told me when it was implanted that I had a 2nd degree block. Today I had a thorough check up today after not having been checked for a year (had no insurance and justgot covered through the VA). Things have changed....

Well Hello everyone!!! I had my wound check yesterday! All looks great, its pretty swolen and bruised (i guess thats to be expected) The thing I was not prepared for was, that you can actually see the raised area of the PM..I can trace the entire thing with my finger!!! Will it always be like this, will it remaine raised and noticable?? WOW. Scarey!!! The also did the PM interrogation, all is working well....its settings are great so far, and I am...(sadly enough) 84% dependant on the PM....

Hi all, hope everyone is doing okay.
I have a question regarding the information the pacemaker holds until my next checkup. The doctor said on my follow-up visit after my implant that I was pacing at 50%. I have a dual lead that was implant due to 2nd degree AV block.
I am scheduled for a three month checkup in May and was curious as to how much information the doctor will get when he tests the pacemaker. Does it keep info since the last visit for him to see how I have been...

I have had my pacemaker for approximately six months. I will
need to go and have a mammogram next month. Is there something I should do before going for this mammogram, or
should I wait longer. I am doing fine otherwise, atleast so far.
I take it all back!

I've just come home from my appt with the Doc for my routine PM check. He and the tech were informative, supportive, and patient. I had nothing to worry about. They did increase upper Atrium limit to 170 (from 150) so I can walk uphills better. Anyway, thanks for your input and support!

I haven't posted in about a year. I'm the one that had to put a second mortgage on our house to pay for pacemaker surgery in July 2008. because I have no insurance. I don't know if anyone remembers this. Tomorrow I'm going in for a routine PM check. I've canceled the last 3 appts for this because I have very little confidence in the technician, and my PM Doc seems indifferent. We have to pay cash and sometimes, for their mistakes, which is hard to take. My question is this: my "upper sett...

Recently I have been having some of the same symptoms as before my implanted dual chamber medtronic PM such as lightheartedness, breaking out in a sweat when I exert myself at all associated with some shortness of breath but no chest pain or discomfort. When I relax the symptoms subside. These things started right after taking a shower a couple of weeks ago and accidently slipped and in trying to support myself by grabbing the rail that swung the arm on the side of my PM up and over my head...
