my heart history

I just want each one to know that I have had heart disease since 1991. I have had two heart surgeries and received a pig valve on the last surgery. Last Dec. 09 I passed out as i was getting ready for church. I was in heart block. Came near dying but my home town Dr. is great and put in a temporary pace maker. I was rushed to a larger hospital and turned over to a team of cadriologist. I came home with pacemaker and defibrillator. I am ok but I know my life will never be the same. I have trouble sleeping and sometimes have to get up and get in the recliner. It seems like getting out of bed and sitting up helps whatever is going on at the time. My legs hurt a lot. I have had seven by passes between the two surgeries and anyrysumn repair twice. I am happy I have found this site to come to for moral support. May God bless you all.

Hi Joleea,I am 68 male, had surgery in1993,DVR(mechanical valves for mitral and aortic)+CABG X2.Syncope one day in 2008,on Holter Monitor diagnosed SSS,Brady Tachy cardio syndrome with AF.Pacemaker in VVIR mode implanted,on anticoagulatant and Metoporolol.
Prior to PM implant had dizziness, light headness, now feel same at times.CAG with PM implant done, fortunately doctor said flow is good and grafts are patent(good).I do have less sleep may be due to old age,my cadio says I am doing well at present.t This may be due to lifestyle(diet, medicines and exercise). So let us not think about too much on our health conditions be positive.

I am still doing ok. I ran across this and had forgotten I was a member. It is good to chat with someone who knows what I have and am going through. It has been a little over a year now since i got my pacemaker-defib. It is working great. Joyce I had my first surgery in 91. I met this guy two years later. I was 49 at the time. I just told him right away that I had a heart condition. He said he still wanted to see me. I guess he got to thinking about it later and talked to a coworker about it. The coworker ask him would he take me for a day and he said yes. That made up his mind that my illness didn't matter to him. We have now been married 15 years and so very happy. I have since had another heart surgery and then later the pacemaker and defib. He has been with me every step of the way. I was so lucky to find a guy like this. When I go into the hospital he refuses to come home until I do. I just love him so. I hope your as lucky as I at finding a good mate..... Sandra
