Anyone had a PM implanted on Medicaid?

I have applied for Medicaid and I am under the care of a cardiologist for bradycardia. I recently switched to a new cardio and who is doing testing to determine my need for a PM. We briefly discussed my need for one it at my initial visit to his office based on my files from another office.

If I am approved for Medicaid, I am hoping that this will enable me to become an "official club member" who sports a pace maker. I'd like to know if any members have gotten their PM's while on Medicaid and if so, what was their experience like, what type and brand of unit did they get and any other experiences they had.

I'm just hoping that being on Medicaid (if I'm approved) will allow me the only chance I have to get back to a normal life. I don't know what to expect. Will someone pull out a box and blow the dust off it and then hand the 20-year old box to me and say, "Here you go!' along with instructions to implant myself or what.

I am so desperate to be rid of these bradycardic symptoms and return to the working world that I'd auction off my only original Beatle's album and my Cleveland Brown's autographed framed piece if I thought for one minute it would pay for a pacer!! Anyone who wears these shoes, please respond. A private message is okay.

Possible in some instances

The above post is probably right on the bradycardia not qualifiing as a disability, not sure as I have mine due to various other conditions i.e. asthma, and chari malformaion. It took years to get it along with several appeals. Disability is supposed to either you qualify or not but I found out it depends on were you live. In response to the last part of above post and Medicaid not covering pacemaker surgery, mine was done and covered by Medicaid, again in may depend on where you live and recieve you care at. This is just my experience.
