pregnancy and a pacemaker?

Just wondering if anyone had experienced pregnancy with a pacemaker. I just had my pacer put in 2 weeks ago, and i always wanted another baby. im wondering if that is even possible now.

thanks

Having a pacemaker will not prevent you from having another baby, but the underlying condition that caused you to need the pm may. You'd need to ask your doctor, probably ask your cardiologist to have a chat with your ob. I had two babies after I got my pm, and there are several other ladies here who had perfectly normal healthy pregnancies with a pm also.

I see you're from Baltimore. I lived in Fallston until I was 12 then moved to Southern Md and went to high school in Greenbelt.

Hi, have seen lots of people on here who have had babies very successfully, Tracey E above being one of them.

Go for it!!

Twins with Pacer

Hi,
My twin boys are now 16 months. I carried them almost to term and delivered them vaginally following 23hrs of labor. It is possible to have a healthy pregnancy despite a less-than-perfect heart. They will monitor you closely, but that's ok.

You know you're wired when...

Your license plate reads “Pacer4Life”.
